Location (there's a great wine bar around the corner and the old town is right outside)
The rooms are huge
Reasonable costs
Helpful porters - really went the extra mile (Robert I recall was his name)
The things I didn't like?
Whilst not unfriendly, I didn't feel the staff on the front desk were warm
The hourly charge for early/late check-in - I managed to get one hour dropped but this is the first hotel in my life with this policy.
Fixtures and fittings are dated and not in a good way.
The air conditioning woke me up as it was badly damaged and it cannot be turned off inside the room (you have to call the front desk, which was at 3am)
It did it's job.
A lovely weekend away but not 5 stars
Louisa Son 05/11/2017 10:32Friendly greeted when arrived and shown to our room, which was really lovely and had heated floor in the bathroom which was great after a cold walk around. Complimentary breakfast was nice although often started cleaning away food way before closing time and a lot of tables left dirty. Clean hotel although rooms were not up to 5 stars especially when being made up. We booked the private spa which was very pretty although it was a closed room so after 10 mins of jacuzzi the room steamed up and it was far too hot and had to stop, which for paying for two hours wasn't acceptable. At night there is hardly anyone around and if you want to come back in the hotel after midnight you had to ring the doorbell and wait for someone, which for a 5 star hotel is, plainly unacceptable. Desk staff were happy to help with any questions/ help with taxis. Wifi worked well. Would happily go back but wouldn't call it 5 stars on the little things
Perfect Place for a Romantic Gateway
Marwa Ton 27/10/2017 13:20Excellent hotel with luxurious spa. Our room was very nice as if you are in a museum and spacious. The bed was amazing extremely fabulous and huge. The door man Jossiph is very Friendly and laughed with my kids and he is vvvv nice man. All the staff are helpful and friendly. Very good location steps to all the interest tourist points. We stayed two nights and visited Eurovera mall that worth visiting as everything is vvvv cheap there.
Absolute Perfection
Sophie Won 24/10/2017 21:54I can only describe this hotel as an absolute dream! Me and my boyfriend travelled to Bratislava after being in Vienna for 3 days beforehand and decided to treat ourselves to this hotel (Even though we got an absolute bargain for this 5 star hotel).
The room was perfection, as soon as we walked in we were absolutely gobsmacked at how wonderful it was! The room size was excellent and the bed was absolute huge! We had dressing gowns and slippers which was a nice touch and the bathroom was excellent. We did not have breakfast at the hotel as it was very expensive but that is to be expected in a 5 star hotel.
Location was absolutely excellent - right in the old town which was nice and close but also extremely quiet!
I could not recommend this hotel enough and if i was in Bratislava again i would not think twice about staying here again - if you get the chance book this straight away :)
I don't think it should be four stars. It should be FIVE STARS!
Digitalaseon 19/10/2017 20:26Stayed for two nights on the 9-11 October 2017. I was totally surprised by how beautiful the rooms were, super luxurious, and it was an experience to have a duplex unit. One minute walk to the historic square, and one minute walk to the main road. Excellent location!
The staffs speak English very well, and they were all very friendly!!! Felt very welcome in the hotel!
Apparently the building itself was built in the 13 century!!!
Dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner were beautifully placed on the table. Good variety of selections.
If you want a truly boutique hotel, with a heavy touch of historic background to it, look no further.
