What People are saying

Poorly maintained apartments

Chi C on 16/10/2017 23:38

The location of the Aria Apartments is fantastic however, they are not well maintained. The unit has was staying in had tiles missing in one of the bathrooms. The penthouse my friends were rating in had a damaged ceiling in one of the bathrooms, the doors were swollen with moisture, and no service around if you experience issues over the weekend.. Despite these issues, at least the view of the ocean is good. Not amazeballs because there were other buildings in front but still good.

But under the surface...

Stayed 4 nights in the penthouse as a group. Wonderful idea in theory. Having your own kitchen, sauna and spa is an excellent treat. There are multiple living areas, multiple dining areas and beautiful balconies with glorious ocean views. The flooring is stunning, the interior design is classy and well considered. But there are problems. Significant ones.
I appreciate that Aria apartments have no control over bad weather. Bad weather is what we got. Not tropical storm bad, just wet and windy. One of the glass doors blew off it's hinges into the living room. The single glazed windows and doors howled and shook through the nights which were therefore sleepless. So understand that the apartments are susceptible to significant wind and water disturbance. Furniture is dirty. Backs of lounges have not been cleaned. Door handles are loose, towel rails pop out under the load of a small towel. Furthermore, the downstairs bathroom ceiling is water damaged and detached from the wall over the bath. There is a brown sagging ceiling corner as a direct result of damp. In a bathroom, moisture needs to be extracted efficiently and effectively. But as throughout the rest of the apartment, the surfaces are sparkling...
Finally the penthouse floor was charged it to us at the penthouse rate... Despite the fact that it was a total construction site. They were renovating one of the lifts she the 2nd penthouse apartment. We've paid for luxury, not a landscape of drop sheets, wood and workmen.
So, great location, big, shiny adjustment with fantastic appliances and mod cons. I, however, value my sleep and my safety more highly than that.

Do not stay here!!!

Worst experience ever! Do not book this hotel especially if you have kids.
Extremely dirty, broken appliances, no aircon in bedrooms, damaged furniture and noise level beyond the joke.
Booked to stay for 5 night with my 4 kids- 1 being an infant. I was given level 6 facing the pool and ocean.
From 8pm till midnight music from across the street blaring so loud no one could sleep. Sounded like I was in a middle of a stadium. Clearly the windows are not double glazed like every other hotel near by. I stayed at another hotel across the street from this one in January and did not hear a peep.
As the days progressed the noise level got worst-Saturday night was beyond the joke we have no slept for 3 days!!! How is this a holiday.
I complained to management via email and phone and in person and they refused to move up my family to a higher level or to refund the remained 2 days of my stay.
I'm disgusted and disappointed at this hotel worst experience ever! I will be submitting a complain to ACCC and consumer affairs you cannot treat guests at a hotel this was especially after paying premium rate!
I'm now forced to move to another hotel and pay again for 2 more nights at a premium rate and I will fight this hotel to get my money back!
Warning the staff are rude as well. Do not stay here. The spa is also too hot burning to be exact and the pool is far to cold! No reception beyond normal business hours, they don't offer more then 1 dish washing liquid, powder, detergent either. No cleaning service or change of towels and they charge you for pool towels as well- which they didn't even have for 3 days for normal towels from room... and the manager refuses to call back or help!

Romantic Getaway

My husband surprised me with a short trip to Gold Coast to celebrate our birthdays in June 2017. We had a 2 bedroom apartment. The view was amazing. Very clean and modern. Location was perfect! Great selection of restaurants and bars to choose from all within a minute or two's walk. Would definitely stay again

Loved it!

We had a fabulous stay and were highly impressed by the apartment. We were in a 3 bedroom on the 7th floor but we still had a good view of the ocean. We had done our homework and knew it wasn't a serviced apartment - and with a Woolworths right nearby this wasn't a problem. Loved the location of the Aria to the restaurants, beach, tram stop etc. The cooking equipment provided was adequate and we made good use of the free BBQs on the pool level. The pool and spa were also well used. Unfortunately there is no wheelchair access to the pool - so our young man in a wheelchair couldn't enjoy a swim or spa. He did however enjoy the full sized spa bath in the apartment.
Like others have said - the noise on Fri and Sat nights from the nightclub across the road was pretty full on and the garbage truck drivers at around 6am seem determined to make as much noise as possible!!
We had our sheets and towels changed around the week mark - but we were surprised that no other cleaning was done at this time (expected the table and floors to be cleaned) so we went and bought some cleaning products to do it ourselves.
Loved the little laundry area which meant we could wash regularly and all the bedrooms and bathrooms were quite spacious. The living area and balcony were fabulous, large spaces too. And very surprised to find a tv in every room!
Overall we had such a great stay that the little faults weren't enough to stop me from giving 5 stars!
Thanks for a wonderful stay.
