My visit and experience in Rio de Janeiro

I won't recommend this location to a foreign person. I think and feel this place is more for locals unless you speak the language and you are completely independent. I hired a tour guide while my visit in Río de Janeiro and this person was picking and dropping us off as part of his job for the hotel that was a good reason for an extra charge just because he wasn't register. I did pay only for they to leave my tour guide alone and not ruin our vacation time even when this third person wasn't sleeping or using anything of the location. Front desk make us feel uncomfortable and to some point reject...

Value for money

Nice clean room and has great value for money. Nice breakfast and the staffs were very helpful, friendly and accommodating.

The only thing was it was not as central as we though it would be, but maybe that is our fault of having the expectation that it might be close to the beach and shopping districts... But anyways it was not an issue as there are loads of public transports around. However we really enjoyed our stay here and would come back :)

Great place to stay in Rio

Was thrilled to find this spot in Rio to host our group. It was very clean and excellent service. The breakfast was very nice and for us it was perfect. We stayed 2 nights. The staff was helpful. The manager made sure all our needs were met. We enjoyed staying here and would come back again.

Great stay in Rio!

Stayed here at the end of March/ beginning of April. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly, helpful and some spoke good English too. Good location a short walking distance to shops, cafe's etc. Would definitely stay here when visiting Rio again!

Arosa Rio

3 friends and I stayed at the Arosa for 4 nights in April 2016. It's a lovely hotel, nice & modern and very clean. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay (free plug adaptor to borrow, taxi bookings etc). The room itself was very nice, smart modern decor, nice size with a good bathroom & great shower, big wardrobe, free safe, fridge (minibar). The cleaners came every day and did a great job.
We had breakfast included in our room rate and thoroughly enjoyed it. It's buffet style and had plenty of choice with cereals, juices, fresh fruit, bread selection, spreads, crackers, biscuits plus a little hot section with an egg option and a meat (bacon/sausage).
We also ate dinner in the restaurant one evening and couldn't fault it, lovely food and good service.

The only slight issue is the location itself. It's approx a 20 min walk from 'Central' metro station but don't let that fool you, you aren't in central Rio! The walk to the metro was okay in daylight but felt a bit dangerous after dark. However, taxis are very cheap so are a suitable and affordable alternative. We were able to walk from the hotel to the Lapa Arches and the famous red tiled steps (sorry I forget the name) and then walked down to the Flamengo beach which was beautiful and lovely & quiet compared to Copacabana & Ipanema, plus more sheltered so nicer for swimming.

Overall I would recommend this hotel.
