Great for Loch Lomond
50countries2014on 20/11/2017 23:06We stayed here for 2 nights as we were attending a wedding on Loch Lomond. But it is actually on the shores of Loch Long.
Arriving we were instantly blown away by the location, right on the shores of the Loch. There were a few minor faults with the room but nothing that couldn't be put right in minutes. The reception staff bordered on the unhelpful when we requested a taxi just giving us 3 numbers. One of which didn't exist the other didn't answer and the 3rd wanted £20:00 Just to come and pick us up before adding the fare. After some moaning from myself they did call another but left me to speak with the company.
The hotel bar on the other hand was full on our first night with a great atmosphere and entertainment laid on by Vic Stevens the singer. Plus the G&T' s were cheap. Great night.
Despite all the minor faults the main selling point was the view from our room. Mountains, loch, rainbows and snow.
Could have been so much better.
magoothenooon 20/11/2017 14:02My partner and I booked a 2 night stay with D,B&B through your hotel break.com...with the added option of a 3rd night for £20. But when adding this 3rd night option the £20 deal wasnt availbale so booked the 3rd night at full price. Asked for a loch view room at time of booking and got email confirmation, but due to the hotel being very busy they couldn't give us a double room facing the loch, but did arrange to give us the suite on the 3rd night to which we accepted. All good so far.... breakfast was lovely and the waitress couldn't have been nicer and with my partner not eating meat she was given the option to add beans and mushrooms to her breakfast which isn't on the menu, I had the full Scottish with the added beans and I asked if I could have both the haggis and black pudding with no problems. Dinner was excellent too.
Room was smelling a bit damp on arrival but once we got the heating on the damp smell quickly went away. As for cleanliness it was well kept could be doing with a wee spot of paint here and there and a bit of grout cleaner on the bathroom and the room would have been spotless.
Bar prices were reasonable too, £6.80 for a pint of lager and a vodka and coke..(the same order @the village in was £7.60).
Now the bad point😠 We went for a walk around the village and returned to our room later only to find that £100 was stolen from my Partners handbag, we swiftly reported this and the guy at reception couldn't have been nicer and apologised for this and offered us a complimentary bottle of wine. Police were called and are dealing with it.
On check out the manager also apologised and waived any more charge to our room as the theft was still under investigation and thanked us for our patience and cooperation. All in all a very enjoyable stay which could have been better if it weren't for the theft. Just a wee reminder not to be so trusting the next time.

Mhairic4on 19/11/2017 14:08Just returned from a visit to this hotel..Set in the most brilliant scenery. From the moment we arrived the staff couldnt have been more attentive..Place is spotlessly clean..We asked for ground floor room and were given this. Food was good and plentiful drinks cheap. we will certainly be back.. A big hands up to the staff who made this so enjoyable.
Cheap and Cheerful
Mooey39on 17/11/2017 20:46Relatively cheap rooms. Plenary of parking. Decent choice of breakfast included. Good restaurant for being meals. Room and hotel is a little bit grubby but overall very good value for money. Don’t forget the breathtaking views!
