Better off in a tent

David M on 21/11/2017 22:17

Worse hotel ive ever stayed in! I've stayed in backpacker hostels and tents better than this place. The room was the size if a garden shed, hadnt been cleaned properly, some if the linen had cigarette burns, the bathroom was the size if a portaloo. And wifi wasnt included and have to walk up the street to another building to use the pool. All for the price of $360 for 2 nights an apparently that was at a discounted rate. I feel for the people who would pay more.

Tired...

The room was very tired. I've stayed in much more luxurious motels to be honest. So where do we start. Tiny room. Needed a paint. "View" to a building site. Two different coffee mugs (obviously too much to buy a matching set). I think I would describe the balcony as a micro-balcony - just about enough room to stand. A charge to use the internet - in this day and age! Damp smelling bathroom. Half the channels on the TV didn't have any picture just sound (and no they weren't radio stations!). Not a place I would ever consider staying at again! Oh, and I have it 2/5 instead of 1/5 because of the one saving grace - the shower WAS hot...

close to Queen Victoria markets and Lygon st

We had a twin room. Room space was quite good, with plenty of room to open out 2 large luggage bags and not be tripping over them. Kitchenette had everything we needed for the few days we were there. Bathroom was small but clean.
When we arrived the twin beds were almost together so we pushed them apart more by moving the bedside tables. Beds were comfortable.
Renovations were taking place which I didn't know when we booked months before, so there was some noise early in the mornings(8am) from jackhammers.
Can be noisy as RMIT is right next door, so you need to keep the windows shut and the aircon on while in the room.
it is close to Queen Victoria Markets and Lygon St, both a 10 minute walk, and just outside the free tram zone. Aldi a 3min walk away

I was shocked to arrive to the hotel to see the old reception area looking like an abandoned shack, I’ve been to Arrow before and it was wonderful, but currently it is under renovation so keep that in mind. There was no warning of this. The staff were wonderful as always but the atmosphere of the hotel made me feel so uneasy I left after two hours to stay with a friend. I arrived back to the hotel in the morning to check out.

The room was very clean and simple and close to public transport and within walking distance of the city. All facilities worked well. Window was dusty from the construction outside, not the fault of the hotel but worth mentioning.

I would not recommend anyone to stay here at the moment, but would recommend it once the renovations are complete.

Even though my stay wasn’t the best atmosphere wise, the staff were lovely, welcoming and friendly. I’ll be back once all renovations are complete!

Nothing going for it

For nearly $170 nz$ per night we were given a one bedroom tiny apartment on the second floor of a building site looking into a car park building and student accommodation on one side and into the Carlton library on the other, and above a very very noisy reconstruction section.
From early each morning and all day long there was machinery beeping, building materials being dropped and noisy workmen doing their job.
Advertised facilities were not available except the laundry which was in an adjacent building.
Our toaster kept blowing the switchboard, the bedroom air con constantly flashed filter needs cleaning, and the bathroom fan had a high pitched whine.
If we had been told of the reconstruction when we booked in we wouldn’t have gone. We checked out before our stay was over.
Accommodation providers have a duty to advise enquirers about changes to facilities
