Perfect location for city exploring

Stayed three nights. Only 20 minutes from the airport. A real find in a quiet piazza and we could walk everywhere. Comfortable rooms, personal and helpful service and a great buffet breakfast. Good restaurants nearby. One of three hotels in the group, small and intimate feel with some great art work.
Terrific Boutique Hotel

We stayed 3 nights at this terrific boutique hotel and were fortune to have been upgraded to one of the suites, which in fact was a 2 bath, one bedroom and kitchen apartment. Truly a unique and fun experience. The lady who was the receptionist during the day and gentleman night receptionist were extremely accommodating and helpful. The hotel is very well located, mere steps from Piazza Maggiore and the main shopping and food district. As this was our departure city, we left our rental car at the airport, then took a 17 euro taxi ride to the hotel for our stay in Bologna and then taxied back to the airport for our flight. Bologna is a difficult city to drive in, even for experienced Italian drivers.
5 Nights, Perfect Location, Couldn't Have Chosen a Better Place

We stayed 5 wonderful nights in this hotel and couldn't have picked a better place. The room was fantastic with a huge, modern bathroom. The location was definitely the best in the city, a few minutes walk to everything, including the Piazza Maggiore, but tucked away enough that it wasn't on the beaten path. There was even public parking nearby that was considerably cheaper than the hotel parking. The staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly, esp. Francisco, although everyone there was great. In the afternoons and evenings there were goodies and drinks to help make it cozy. And the breakfast buffet had a good assortment that kept us satisfied for the whole morning.
Close, comfortable, convenient

Stayed for 3 days 2 nights.
Close to all the major sights for a first time trip - towers, all the piazzas, shopping strips, quadrilatero.
Hotel- standard single. More spacious then the photos online but exactly the same (decor etc) so was pleased when checking in. Generous bathroom (sulfuric smell but you deal with it- think of yourself in mineral hot springs). FYI they have weight scales in there- thankfully mine didn't work (dead batteries) because I don't think you would want to weigh in after all the delicious food!!!!!
Very clean and you can't hear a peep so a good nights sleep after wondering Bologna.
Francesco at reception was patiently helpful and successful in securing spot in a fully booked cooking class (def must even if you are a foodie or just love pasta) and rebooking train tickets etc. Thank you- have left with some insider knowledge from Valeria & Barbara (il salotto di Penelope)
Comfortable breakfast room lay out with a relaxed vibe so many relaxed conversations with fellow travellers- mainly American/UK retirees who were an absolute delight!
Will return to Bologna and def stay again. Strongly recommend.
Very close to the epicenter of the city life

This was my third day in Italy, and after the cool days in Trento I was glad to greet sunny weather in Bologna. I decided to stay in that hotel after the recommendation of my friend. Of course, I checked the Internet - most people staying there wrote they were satisfied.
Unfortunately, most central streets of Bologna do not have any traffic at all, so you have to go on foot to the place of your destination. My taxi driver stopped about 200 metres from the hotel, showed me my way on his smartphone and drove away. I followed his instructions and came to the crossroad of narrow streets with typical Italian city houses - no sign of ANY hotel. No name of a shop on any building. No people around. Where to go now? Fortunately, there was a tiny shop opened in one of the by-streets, and a lady inside told me with a smile that I stand 3 metres from Art Hotel Novecento, but on the back side of it. And really, I turned the corner and immediately saw the front entrance to the hotel, a sculpture before it, some piazza with benches, lot of people .
The hotel is not a big one - I guess about 18-20 rooms. Automated doors open into a small corridor with a bird sculpture composition which leads you to the lobby, elevator, breakfast room. My check-in took not more than 2-3 minutes, I was given the city plan, a traditional room key and went directly to my room on the 3rd floor.
To my surprise it was very-very small. You open the door and immediately see the bed with numerous pillows, a narrow writing table with a TV on it. On the left from the bed is a refrigirator with the items of the minibar plus an electric kettle on it, on the right - some piece of furniture to put your belongings and a table lamp.
But what I enjoyed most was the bathroom!!! The same size as my bedroom or even more with lots of towels, slippers and bathrobes, bathroom scales, bidet and a wall hung W.C. pan, big mirrow and sockets for a shaver, a folding stool (very comfortable as most of the guests were old people). A separate praise should be given to the shower cabin - spacious and with a wall-to-wall ceramic bench which is so nice to sit on and shower and safely soap oneself. I guess, I should do the same at home!
I wanted to sleep with my windows open, but thought better of it because the sounds of the street nightlife were disturbing.
Breakfast was excellent in its Italian way with numerous types of cheeses and cut sausages, fruits, omelette and ham and cakes, tea and coffee. Though it will not make your most substantional meal of the day, as we, Russians, got used to. But the positive feature of it is that all the Italians are VERY slender.
All the attractions of Bologna are not far from the hotel, as well as shops and boutiques, and cafes and restaurants.
But I had to walk a lot in the centre of the city to find a grocery store to buy traditional Italian eatable souvenirs.
