We have stayed in this very cosy b&b with my mum for 2 nights.The place feels like home.Our room was huge and bed was very comfy.Breakfast was just amazing.But the real gem of this place are the owners so nice and very helpful.I would definitely recommend this beautiful b&b.

May 14, 15, 16, 2017 - After an easy check-in, we proceeded to our room on the second floor. Immediately, we noticed that the floors, carpet, furniture, and decor was clean, well organized and sparkling. And, that was just on the way to our room. Upon entering our room, we were so impressed with the king bed, the carpet, the spaciousness, the bathroom, and the television. We had a commanding view of the street through our bay window but could not hear the street noise.
Our room was even more colorful and impressive than the pictures we saw on the Ashmourne House website. And the bed and pillows were the most comfortable during our 31 day trip through the United Kingdom. Our hosts were efficient, friendly, and helpful. We had marvelous breakfasts. And, our hosts recommended The Plough Inn just down the street for dinner, which was tasty and abundant.
We had accumulated a fair amount of dirty laundry during our prior days on the road. Unfortunately, a laundry location was not convenient for us since we did not have a car (we were on a guided tour). Our hosts were kind to do our laundry for us. When we got back to our room after a day of adventure, we were delighted that our clothes were clean and folded on our king size bed.
Paul and Julie will treat you as friends, not just guests. You can not stay at a better bed and breakfast in York at a reasonable cost with the kind of first class service. We paid 270 pounds for three nights lodging.

Had a lovely 4 night stay at this B & B. The breakfasts were great and the service from our hosts Paul and Julie was fantastic. Our room was huge and spotlessly clean and the bed was the comfiest I had slept on in all of our 5 weeks away. It also had a big window at the front which let in plenty of light. It was located on a busy road but we really did not hear much noise at night time. We were a 25 min walk away from the city centre but the bus to the centre of York stops about 50m from the house and has a 15min frequency so never too long to wait. We were able to get a day pass for 4 pounds each. There were a couple of pubs close by and a supermarket if you needed anything. Having tea, coffee and biscuits in the room and fresh milk if you wanted was a plus for us too. There was parking if required but we did not need it. Would absolutely recommend this place to anyone visiting York and if we do visit York again we will definitely be staying there. Thanks again to Paul and Julie for their hospitality. x

Very pleasant overnight stay, room was spacious, very clean and well equipped, breakfast was excellent,service first class, location was good,short walk into town, via riverside, couple pubs nearby, in centre excellent resturants, wine bars, would certainly recommend

Had a lovely weekend in this lovely friendly B&B .the owners were a delight from the start nothing was too much trouble very informative and helpful.
The rooms were spotless and very comfy
Breakfast was very nice.
Lovely pub just down the road called the Plough the food was delicious plenty on the menu and so much one dinner two could of eaten.
There is a bus stop outside the B&B
Takes you into york very cheaply think it was less than £5 for 5 all day
