What People are saying

Stay in Wales ruined by rude staff.

elizabeth2892 on 09/11/2017 17:12

Not one to normally leave reviews but signed up just to warn others about the disgusting level of customer service offered at this hotel. Worst hotel I have ever stayed in - horrific, frozen and expensive food, out-dated and cold rooms and the staff from hell. Outraged that we'd found a cheap deal with booking.com, staff made us feel undervalued and repeatedly mentioned that there had been a mistake with the pricing etc which made us feel even more awkward. Even after leaving the hotel and checking out the staff continued to call us whilst we were out enjoying Wales, threatening that that booking.com would be in touch to sort out the remaining balance etc and hanging up. Very childish behaviour which ruined our short stay in beautiful Wales.

Lovely Hotel

We've been here several times and thoroughly enjoyed each time. The food is excellent in quality and value. We had our wedding reception here as well. Staff are friendly and efficient. Our room was comfortable and had a Jacuzzi.

An unexpected delight!

Meant to book on the Gower...but ended up here instead..and we were not disappointed. Room 3 is where Amelia Earhart stayed..allegedly! The room was a good size and the ensuite fine. I enjoy a bath after a long walk and the combined bath and shower works for us. The staff are excellent... Nothing is too much trouble.
WiFi worked fine and we ate here every night of our five day stay, food is good value and nicely presented. Note..portions are huge!!
Hotel is well placed for trips to Carmarthen, the fabulous Aberglasney Gardens and the beach by the harbour is lovely.
This is obviously the local hotel for major family occasions but despite several large bookings the staff still made us feel valued. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and our walks via the golf club to the beach!

The reason we booked this hotel was that we were attending a wedding here and it was the only hotel in the immediate vicinity and having drove from the south coast it seemed the best option. We didn't have high expectations of this hotel (after reading other reviews) sadly we weren't pleasantly surprised either. Our room No.1 was truly awful and it really shouldn't be offered to guests. Firstly, when we entered the room there was pieces of crumbled brick work on the floor along with the wall paper hanging off the wall ( we took photographs ) also the windows streaming wet with condensation. So, we brought the receptionist up to see for herself. As she was as equally mortified as she we were, offered to send us to another hotel or we could pay for a 50% discount, which we did accept as we didn't want to drive to and fro to the venue over the two days we were staying in Wales. Unfortunately there wasn't any other rooms available as the wedding party had booked the rest of the hotel. The other room issues was the toilet seat of the extremely dated bathroom was hanging off its hinges as was the toilet roll holder and the shaving mirror light didn't work. For the two days we endured here there was no TV signal anywhere in the hotel which if you were on your own you were stuffed as there is no entertainment here, its all very basic. The walls are REALLY paper thin and we both were woken by the guests in the next room snoring along with the constant banging of the doors opening and closing all night.
All this said I must add the majority of the staff were very pleasant especially the receptionist ( I think named Linda) who is a massive asset to this hotel, she went out of her way to try to make our stay a better experience. Also the actual wedding venue was beautiful with the tables and reception area looking gorgeous.
We booked out straight after breakfast about 7.30 as we couldn't face spending another minute in this room. The management/owners really need to spot check their house keepers as what we booked into was beyond unprofessional. Oh.. and perhaps give Linda a bonus as she is a diamond!

A Friendly Comfortable Hotel with a Good Restaurant.

My wife and I stayed one night here while exploring this part of the South Wales coast. We arrived before 12 noon to have an early lunch and were surprised when they showed us to our room right away, (before the usual check-in time of 2 p.m.). We ate all our meals here, Lunch, evening meal and breakfast, all good. Our bedroom and en suite bathroom were a good size and very clean. The bedroom was supplied with all the items that you might expect in a good hotel. There was a hairdryer, tea and coffee making facilities, Freeview TV, good size wardrobes and good bedside lights, as we like to read in bed. The staff were very friendly and helpful. As for local attractions we recommend a visit to Kidwelly Castle.
