I booked a Deluxe room at this hotel and had clearly mentioned the number of members traveling and booked it from some other site, but when we went the Deluxe rooms had minimal to no space for an extra bed but since we were with small kids we managed somehow extra bedding was provided. Tip: Please do not book Deluxe room for more than two people as it only meant for a couple and the room has minimal in one room and no space in other room for an extra bed. They have other rooms which are spacious and can accommodate more people like 3-bedded, 4 bedded, etc., even 6 bedded room also. Apart from this the stay was very pleasant in the hotel. Staff was very helpful and helped us in every bit they can with getting things from the market to booking tickets for the ropeway. They have a in-house restaurant also. Food was good and with less oil, etc., just like home food. Liked the chicken curry and yellow dal tadka very much (home food feeling). The managers (Anil and Aditya) were also nice people to meet. Hotel is situated at Tallital next to the bus stand and a stone throw's away from the hotel, hardly 20-30 steps. Would definitely recommend this hotel for elderly people also as it is at ground level. They have some parking space too. If I would stay again at this hotel ?, yes but will book a room which is more spacious as per our requirement. Would definitely recommend to family and friends. Had a pleasant stay overall.

Nice stay.. clean and tidy.. Rooms are comfortable.. fuds are gud.. nearby town... overall gud... loved and njoyd... Gud water facility...well furnished with privacy.. i recomend this hotel to u.. go n njoy

Hotel is good for its location but the rooms are quite dis satisfying. As i booked the room through oyo so i got it at a much lower price in comparison with normal tariff. I should say that hotel authorities should need to clean there bathrooms properly and should take care of smell coming from rooms. Instead you can try for more hotel in this budget

I had a pleasant stay at Ashok Hotel (standard double room) in March 2017. It is a good value relative to other hotels in Nainital and a convenient location.
Areas of Improvement: It is a bit loud from the street, rooms cleanliness is OK, and they turn off the WIFI at night (which seems to be the norm for budget hotels in India)
Pros: The staff is very friendly and helpful - I highly recommend them, especially Anil. The location is convenient, right by the lake and the bus stop.
He was very welcoming and accomodating. The rest of the staff was very friendly too. He helped me arrange getting a scooter to get to Kainchi Dham, and when I lost my cell phone on the road he joined me in a taxi to slowly drive back to look for it during the night and wouldn't accept a tip. He was one of the first hotel hosts that I felt had my back during my month of travels in India.
If you're looking for a good budget hotel in Nainital, I'd recommend Ashok Hotel.

The stay was very pleasant. The staff is polite and helpful. I stayed here with my family for four nights and they have offered us best room from what they have. It was just a booking on phone call with some advance payment by bank transfer and they assured rest of it. They had suggested a taxi for pickup and drop from the station which was very good. The taxi driver was very helpful and guiding and avoided unnecessary exertions. You can rely on his services.
