great first impression but it didn't last long

The entrance driving into the actual hotel was quite impressive. Very manicured. You feel like you're about to drive into a mansion. However I found the rooms were not nearly as impressive as the rest. It wasn't bad but it wasn't special. The balcony was a bit dirty in fact. We did laundry with the machine but one cycle wasn't strong enough to actually dry your clothes. The onset was decent, you do have to walk outside for a slight second to get there so be aware if you're visiting during colder months or late at night. They provided lots of different types of moisturizers if you're into that kind of thing. HOWEVER, if you're vegan, just remember the shampoo/body wash they use are all with horse oil. Yes, horse. Be aware if that is not your thing. If you like to golf, this is your place. The course is quite stunning with a view of the mountains. You get a 180 view of it in the dining room. There were a lot of varieties in terms of breakfast. But I think I personally got sick from it because everything was out in the open without covers.
A multifunction golf resort

The hotel was large, with great nature surrounded the hotel. Room was spacious. The lounge on the ground floor serves a relaxing space for traveler to take a break there, I would suggest some coffee and cakes should be provided there. Breakfast was good, which was Japanese and Western style. Cleanliness have to be improved, we did ask the staff to clean the toilet again before we use the room. Although a lot of golf facilities, and it seems mainly a golf resort, it still serve different kind of travelers.
Nice hotel inside the pines and golf course.

The route to the hotel on the way of Mt. Aso a bit difficult to drive (when you came from Kumamoto town) cause of there're road construction and lack of lighting. But in the daytime you'll enjoy with the pine woods along the way to the hotel and nice scenery of golf course. Also you'll find a big Kumamon which welcome you at the lobby. Room facilities is good enough, worth for the price you paid.
Great views, friendly staff, comfortable bed

Overall a nice experience. My husband and I stayed 3 days in February to experience Mt. Aso. Hotel staff were friendly and accommodating. We do not speak Japanese and the staff made every effort to communicate with us. The room was comfortable. The breakfast and dinner buffets offered a tremendous variety of food. The location is a bit isolated, so we decided to eat at the hotel. It has a Nicholas golf course. The onsen was very nice. Our first experience with an onsen. The property is a bit dated, but you can't beat the view. Would definitely recommend.
Need a car. Definitely

Only recommend if you're driving a car to aso. The view of the hotel is superb. The breakfast and dinner are excellent. Onsen is amazing. However you must drive a car because its very inaccessible. Taxi fare to/ from nearest jr station ( akamizu station) is 1200yen for each trip.
