Excellent location, excellent staff, sumptuous continental breakfast that is well worth the price. My friend and I planned to spend one night, with the rest of our visit to the Pyrenees in our tents, but due to bad weather ended up spending three, never one after the other. We ended up trying three different rooms. The rooms are simple but quiet, and beds are comfortable. A serious plus for hikers, they will store your street gear, keys, and anything else you don't want to lose until you get back, even if it is some days later. My only minor complaint was that wifi was not available in the rooms but only on the entrance floor. Perhaps they will change that soon.

Average hotel, in my opinion not value for money as the room was tired looking and not well equipped. Very noisey in the evenings and mornings and the management had an indifferent attitude. Don't expect a shower hook, tea or coffee making facilities or plentiful electrical sockets.

Asterides is well located for a skiing weekend in Cauterets. The rooms are spacious and reasonably modern renovated. The bathrooms shows the age of the hotel, but are usable. The breakfast buffet is quite good and worth the price.

I appreciated the welcome at Reception and helpful suggestions for the day's intinerary. The place is clean, breakfast is very good. Sadly, we did not sleep well because the mattress was old and lumpy - I hope it gets replaced soon. Free parking in the public parking lots.

We found the staff very welcoming and helpful, and the hotel is right in the middle of town, so handy for the télécabine and ski rental. We had three nights in a four-person room on the top floor; it was really peaceful, we barely heard any other guests even though the hotel was full! The decor is a little dated, but for the price we paid I was quite happy to ignore that.
