Stayed two nights here and really enjoyed it. The location is great, service is good and the room was lovely. We stayed in the front room that looks out to Eden Park entrance. Would be perfect for attending the footy. Great place to stay.

Lovely easy accomodation, so impressed the mini bar prices were realistic - only place I've ever come across! Clean and comfortable, would certainly stay here again for anything auckland related. Thank you
Over inflated prices because of a rugby game

When we booked we needed to be in the area and had not appreciated it clashed with the third and final test of the Lions tour and accommodation was very hard to find. This place is across the road from Mt Eden Stadium so is very well placed for events there. If I review based on the exorbitant rip off prices charged then I would give this place negative stars, normally about $160 a night which is just about right we paid $450. The tripling of prices though is something that was happening across Auckland so we can't really complain. So I will try and review this as a $160 a night place.
On arrival no one in the office but keys etc had been sorted out and it was very easy to get in. The room was clean had a very comfortable queen bed, an excellent heat pump and a very very tiny bathroom that one person could barely get into. The shower however had great water pressure and lots of hot water. There was no wardrobe but a sort of half length thing in which you could hang shirts and skirts but nothing longer. There was just enough room to walk around the bed. The first night I thought this is not too bad it was quiet and as said the bed comfy. The next night my partner arrived and people moved into the room next door. The first thing I noted - two in the room was one too many - no where to put our now 2 suitcases, nowhere to unpack anything, nowhere to put toiletries out and note there were no amenities supplied. The second thing of note was the walls were paper thin, the couple in the room next door may as well have been in our room when talking we could hear everything clearly which meant we also probably annoyed them when we talked, didn't mind that so much but she had a cough that went on all afternoon, night and the next morning.
Due to the test the roads around the motel were to close at 4pm on the Saturday we stayed - infact we didn't know they would close the roads, the signs said parking restrictions. The next day there was someone in the office so I asked what the story was re-road restrictions as we were off to a wedding and wouldn't be back until after 4pm, he told me we would be ok until 6pm there shouldn't be a problem. I pressed him on this issue until he gave me a permit that enabled us to drive through the closed roads and its just as well I did because we needed it when we got back. If we hadn't had one we would have had to park a good 30minute walk from the motel and walk back in the pouring rain. I think as they are experienced with this sort of thing I shouldn't have had to be making enquiries, permits should have been sorted out for guests on check-in. Another gripe was the iron and ironing board. The ironing board was a narrow half length affair designed to be sat on a table or desk, there was place for it but remember I said no room to unpack things, our little desk had toiletries etc all over it which had to be packed up in order to iron. The board then proceeded to collapse continuously and the iron was so old there were no marking on it to know what temperature it was at and it leaked water everywhere. I would suggest the silly cupboard thing in the corner of the room is removed and some decent hanging space put there instead, it would also allow the storage of a proper ironing board.
So my summary - great location if going to Eden Park, no street noise, a lot of internal room noise, comfortable bed in small rooms with minuscule bathrooms. Good for 1-2 nights at the proper price wouldn't want to stay longer due to the lack of space. Nearly forgot free wifi - very good connectivity.
Comfortable--great rugby location!

Very comfortable and a great location if you are planning a visit to Eden Rugby Stadium--you are seriously right there! It is also right across the street from a bus and rail stop. And, there are a bunch of good restaurants just a 5 minute walk away.
Value for money - Clean!

The rooms are pretty tight, but great location right across Eden Park. The rooms are VERY clean. Everything works as expected and the price is good. Walking access to restaurants if you want a quick bite. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. We arrived pretty early and they went out of their way to immediately get a room ready for us.
