Great stay & location
David Son 08/11/2017 05:17Stayed at this B & B one night on way to Door county. Right on shore of Lake Michigan. Very relaxing. Very clean & comfortable. Owners were great. Breakfast was also very good. Would stay again. Within minutes of Algoma.
A lil peace of heaven
lifesadventureron 30/10/2017 16:31We made reservations at last minute for two nights. We stayed in the Nautical Room. The view from the back porch is amazing. Despite the 40’ weather we left the window open to hear the waves crashing into the rocky beach. Breakfast was served at 8. A delicious pancake stuffed with apples and caramel. It’s vacation so live a little. Kari and Dave are the hosts. Kari is personable and extremely friendly and helpful. The second day we were the only ones there and had quiche. We had time to just sit and chat with Kari. A must stay!! Home away from home. Would definitely stay here again.
First time, won’t be the last!
Josh Kon 16/10/2017 00:08First off, our hosts were very warm and friendly. “Real” people. It was our first weekend away as a couple without the kids. They provided fresh flowers upon request and they looked beautiful. The room was clean and in great condition. The view was spectacular and the sound of the waves upon the shore was soothing and relaxing. Their recommendations for dinner plans were great and it was clear they had made our comfort first priority. The breakfast and coffee bar provided was top notch, plentiful portions and delicious. If that wasn’t enough, the conversation shared around the breakfast table was extremely pleasant and our hosts were great people. It turned out that we got engaged this weekend and I feel we couldn’t have stumbled across a better place to stay. We will be back and I look forward to visiting with our newfound hosts/friends again in the future. Thank you so much for the hospitality and fun times!
Great place and wonderful experience!
sjoorfetzon 15/10/2017 13:03We stayedhere this past week (October 2017) and had a wonderful time! We knew northern WI is chilly this time of year and it was perfect! Beautiful breeze from the lake and the sound of the waves. The room was perfect with a fireplace and most comfortable bed! If it weren't for wanting to get out to watch the squirrels, chipmunks and birds at sunrise, I'd have stayed there. Kari was a gracious host (loved the breakfasts) and such a friendly and fun person. It felt like I was staying with family. Thanks for the great experience Kari! Hope to be back soon!
Truly at the waters edge
Julia Ion 13/10/2017 16:03We loved hearing the sound of the waves of Michigan lull us to sleep in our 2nd floor room at the Waters Edge. The private balcony (for 2nd floor rooms) and large porch (outside first floor rooms) made it easy to roll out of bed and watch the sun rise and take great photos. The lovely backyard with hammock and steps down to the deserted beach made it a quiet oasis. (think small stones, not sand, for beach). (And the waves were less noticeable the second night, when the winds die down and so I can’t promise everyone will hear waves loudly from room every night). But being so close to the lake made this a place we’d like to return to.
I enjoyed our strongly-themed room (Northwoods) with its many references to bears and moose. It was a little near the smoking part of the porch so Next time we may try the Tropical or splurge on the honeymoon with its jacuzzi. The web site photos do a good job of showing the rooms, which are over the top in decorations, but in a way that has charm.
The B&B was completely full of vacationing couples and but still quiet (other than during breakfast). Others used it as a very affordable base for traveling up to Door County but we enjoyed the peace and quiet of Algoma. We hope to return!
