My boyfriend and I came to the Caribbean side of Costa Rica for a quiet surf getaway. We rolled into Puerto Viejo in the early evening and were so turned off by all the crowds of people and noise. So we decided to turn back around and head North to Cahuita. Best decision ever!!!
Atlantida is on the outskirts of this quaint little beach town and literally sitting across the street of Playa Negra. We had such a relaxing, but fun time there! Amazing local breakfast with gallo pinto, eggs, homemade bread, coffee, tea, and juice. The owner and employees were all incredibly helpful and friendly (one even helped us find exotic frogs on the property!). Clean rooms and bathroom. Beautiful, relaxing pool. One night, they even threw a pool party with a private DJ.
Would gladly stay again and recommend this place to anyone looking to have a relaxing stay in Cahuita.

I've taken a group of 16 students to Atlantida three times in the past 5 years, most recently in early May 2017. The owners are doing a great job in reviving this charming hotel with its beautiful gardens and attractive pool. The quality of food is very high- barbecued fish was a highlight, and the bread/pizza oven produces great results. You do need to be content with ceiling fans and happy without a TV in your room. But who needs a TV when you are beside the beach in Cahuita, with sloths in the trees?

I know this hotel has superior rooms so to find myself in a single room consisting of a double bed and a single bed with minimum decor was okay for space but that was about it. The shutters and internal doors were rife with woodworm, big chunks missing and saw dust on ledges. There was no wardrobe or coat hangers just two hooks on the wall. The bathroom was tiled with very slippery white tiles on the floor and in the shower - luxurious this was not and the fact that a team of young French footballers were neighbours for two nights with the ensuing loud shouts and chants was sufficient to rate these rooms as 'budget' only. Equally disturbing was the wide crack under the door which a snake could easily have negotiated had I not stuffed it with clothing each night. My neighbour also had a leaking toilet which flooded her room. On the plus side the swimming pool, bar and restaurant area were more like 4* and breakfast and lunch were tasty.

Very nice location & nice staff! Right in front of the beach! Freiman was the best bartender! A must go place in this area! It's not a far drive from Puerto Viejo. Oh and the restaurant has the best pizza!

I arrived earlier than planned and the staff accommodated me. Very friendly family kind of hospitality. The lodge is situated directly across the gravel dirt road from the beach! It's a 10 min walk to Cahuitta town where there are small shops and diners plus entrance to the park. The MEPE bus station is only 15 mins walk away. There were several options for breakfast and other meals at the lodge as well as cocktails by the pool. Wifi was not available in the rooms but I had good reception with T-Mobile/Movistar. The room was basic (bed, pillow, shower, ceiling fan) but I had all I needed to have a great time! I even stayed later than planned and the staff again made sure I enjoyed my stay. The property is beautiful and well maintained. Definitely would recommend as a quiet peaceful getaway!
