This hotel is more like a tired guesthouse than a hotel. The sheets were darned, tiles missing on bathroom floor, no air con and impossible to leave windows open due to the road works and church bell which rang between 10 and 20 times at 6 am. The food was basic but edible. Breakfast consisted of cheese, meat, salad, boiled eggs, cereal and bread. Each dinner salad, soup, choice of two main courses and a pudding.
The family and all staff were friendly and extremely helpful. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble.
The bathroom was dark and very small. The only useable mirror was in a small hall. I took my own mirror and balanced it on the window sill. Had to take an extension lead as only one socket in room.
Not cheap considering how much we paid for tour.

Stayed here for 4 nights on a Shearings coach break at Christmas.
The public rooms were warm and comfortable, but our room on the third floor at the front was very depressing. We had to turn off the radiator as the room became very hot during the evening. Must be unbearable during the summer. The bathroom was horrid. Brown tiles on the floor and walls, a chocolate brown wash basin and a brown toilet with a white seat! It was a work of art to close the shower door properly to prevent the water escaping. However the water was always nice and hot. The bedroom had nowhere to plug in a hairdryer (None provided in room). I brought my own with me and had to lean over the TV and unplug it and plug in my adaptor and hairdryer plug. No mirror by "dressing table". the room was very dark. Impossible to find anything to watch on the TV other than news programmes. The pillows were the worst I have come across. One provided (obtained a second from reception). Big, empty feather pillows that give no support. The breakfast was the same every day. Cereals, rolls, ham, cheese, jams, toast, boiled eggs. No pastries. Evening meals were served by a single waitress who had to serve the whole room alone and take orders for drinks, which she did very efficiently. She deserves a medal. The meals were o.k. but there were no vegetables apart from our "Christmas" dinner which consisted of 2 slices of "turkey", sliced, "fried"? potatoes and a large helping of green beans. We started with cream of garlic soup and finished with a small, stuffed apple. This was the traditional English Christmas dinner we had been promised by Shearings!!

This hotel is very pleasant staff are very friendly, rooms are good but can get a bit to hot in the evening. It is situated on a main road in a small town but traffic dose not keep you awake at night. At six o clock the morning the church bell rings for about one minute

We made a short trip on a Shearings coach for a Christmas break. The room (3rd floor) was comfortable and warm but a bit out of date and short on facilities. We slept well and the shower worked most of the time. Food was very good and the service, by one waitress for a roomful, was brilliant. The front-of-house staff all speak excellent English. Christmas eve was busy in the bar and there was some late-night noise and everywhere had the strong smell of cigarette smoke. Austria needs a ban!! Be prepared for church bells at 6am if your room is at the back facing the belltower!

This is a nice traditional Austrian hotel. I stayed here as part of a coach holiday and it was very pleasant. I had a single room which well proportioned with a sofa bed in addition to the single and a nice balcony. Generous wardrobe space unlike most single rooms I've stayed in. An excellent breakfast buffet with a choice of cereals, breads and preserves and a choice for the evening meal. Drinks were very reasonably priced and there was a good choice. We had no problems with noise in fact it was very quiet. The only reason I haven't given 5 is that the shower could do with updating as getting the correct mix of hot and cold was difficult and also it could do with a handrail. Staff very pleasant and brisk service.
