the cleanest place I have ever seen
varken mon 19/09/2017 21:31the place is in the middle of nowhere and we arrived when it was raining. We only noticed the next day that there is a direct view on the ocean. One of the staff, Semic was the nicest guy you can imagine, even offering to arrange things we had not thought of. the room is basic but super clean. Small downsides : the bar closes at 11pm and the rooms are very noisy. But nature nature nature

Location about 5 km uphill, beautifull view, a lot of green arround the hotel. Very friendly staff with good English. Very big, nice, clean rooms. Very good food in the restaurant. If you want have a rest and you are nearby this is a MUST place!
Pleasant Hotel in the peaceful mountains
B8chatzon 30/08/2017 18:25Stayed here for 2 days while travelling the Basque Country. Reasonably priced. Enjoyed the breakfast spread and coffee v nice. No minibar in room and no bottled water. Pleasant stay would recommend if looking for a peaceful place to stay in the mountains.

If following a GPS from the Bilbao airport simply continue up the hill once the GPS directs you to turn staying you have reached your destination. You will again make a right turn at the top of the hill and go straight up to the to the beautiful Atxurra Hotel Apartment Rural awaits you..
So clean.. staff are very professional.. English is good, food is very tasty.. as is the wine..
Breakfast is included and is a typical European eggs sausages bread croissants juices and delicious fruits.. fresh squeezed OJ and yummy coffee..
We will be back again and rent another 2 bedroom apartment

mf3106on 21/07/2016 15:40My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights in June 2016 an this of one of the most memorable hotels of our 7 week tour through France, Spain and Portugal.
Four things stood out for us at the Hotel-Apartamento Rural Atxurra.
1. The location, high in the hills overlooking the Basque Country and sea but only a short drive to Bermeo;
2. The silence - in the morning all we could hear were the sounds of birds, nothing else - no traffic noise, no sounds of other people;
3. The cleanliness and general standard of the hotel furnishing and fittings;
4. The friendliness of the staff.
