In a group of four motorbikers on tour. We found staff here most welcoming. They chatted with us and locals in a large group (many of whom are bikers and all-too-ready to suggest good routes, which we took up). If Carslberg did waitresses, barmaid Vikki would be one of them! The owner is an ex-biker, so understands what's needed; a secure garage means your bike is off the street and safe.
The Au Lion D'or is on the edge of town and is truck-stop type of accommodation, popular with contractors and lorry drivers, but that really shouldn't put you off the place - the atmsophere is friendly and welcoming. Rooms aren't huge. They are clean and the beds are soft but confortable.
The food is excellent whether taken in the bar area or the restaurant; it's from the same kitchen. It's a little better value for money when taken in the bar. During our one-night stay, the restaurant was full and staff were kept very busy, but they coped admirably.
I'd recommend the Au Lion D'or for short stays, for friends, families or thos eon a tour just wanting to get their head down.

Stayed here in September 2015 and the experience was good. The hotel room was a decent size and very clean. Beds very comfortable. Always a good thing after hours in the car. Nice helpful staff on reception.
The hotel is not in the same building as the restaurant. It is a new building so that's probably why it was so clean and tidy. It was served by the same car park.
You do need to be aware that the hotel overlooks a large car and lorry park. Don't let this put you off as we were not disturbed by the lorries. It seemed to me that this might be very popular with lorry drivers. Always a good thing. They don't tent to use bad hotels.
We didn't eat in the restaurant as there was little choice in the set menus. What there was though, was typical Alsatian fair: choucroute for the main course and kugelhoph glace. You never know what you're going to get with this so we gave it a miss and ate in a restaurant about 2 minutes walk away.
We could have walked into town but we were tired and it looked at least 15 minutes walk away. I could be wrong though.

This Logis hotel provides good basic rooms with free parking. It is located just off the motorway, with a supermarket on one side and a decent restaurant with rock bottom prices on the other. Formally used by truckers (they still form most of the clientele of the restaurant), the hotel is now mainly used by contract workers. Despite being surrounded by trucks, it was quiet.

Stayed here on route to Italy because of its location close to main roads. Went for half board option evening meal and breakfast both very good total cost for 2 including aperitif ,wine, water café 100 euros .Only complaint smell of smoking in room.

I booked the hotel for the start of a group holiday - I chose this particular venue for the location and parking facilities.
The hotel welcome was really good - the lady on the reception desk couldn't have been more helpful.
Really pleased with the rooms, they were clean and functional.
Dinner in their restaurant was great and good value for money.
Breakfast was spot on.
Overall, a good start to our holiday :)
I would recommend it for an overnight stop.
