All-around great weekend! The Auberge felt like home
Vall0non 07/09/2017 18:14From Marie-T's warm greeting at our arrival to the moment we left, our weekend at the Auberge was wonderful. Our room (The Studio) was comfortable and clean, and included a separate living room, mini fridge, massive bathroom with whirlpool, and even a private entryway. (Parking right outside made moving our luggage easy.)
Michel and Marie-T's breakfasts were super delicious. Marie spent some time chatting with us and giving us local recommendations - including making a dinner reservation at another nearby Auberge that was beyond wonderful, the Baker House.
Local artists have done renderings of this beautiful property and they're available next door. The front porch was my favorite part, perhaps tied with the soothing sounds of the small river next to the house, and it's interesting backstory.
Overall great weekend getaway, and a perfect soft spot to land right between Quebec City and Baie-St-Paul, which both offer lots to do and see, and are perfect for walking around and exploring.
The photos of the Auberge don't do it justice!
Great B&B outside Québec Ville
Monarch97_on 31/07/2017 23:25Upon arrival we were friendly greeted and promptly upgraded to the "Suite" with a generous whirlpool (inside) and a own private terrace. It was amazing! A lot of space and everything was very convenient for a one night stay in Quebec.
Located in Chateau Richer, QC its just 10min drive over the highway into the centre of Quebec.
The breakfast was good and freshly prepared. Just a little critizm, they really should offer a american/english breakfast with sausages/scrambled eggs and bacon/ham.
Not be greedy - the omlet was very good but just to offer a little more options.
Although I thought the host was a little bugged speaking english, she was a lot friendlier if you spoke french.
Anyway: High recommendation for this Auberge! 10 Points out of 10!
Beautiful B&B
shelley don 13/09/2016 02:49Upon arriving we were greeted by our hostess, Marie. We were upgraded to the loft/suite. Marie made us feel very comfortable and at home. Our breakfasts were very filling with lots of choices. We stayed 3 nights and would definitely stay again. Great location for visiting Quebec City and surrounding areas.
Two thumbs up... Why would you stay in a hotel?
RobandChristinaon 10/07/2016 14:25Driving down the 401 heading eastbound to Nova Scotia we realized Quebec City was the place we were going to stop over for the night. We looked at the prices of hotels- gasp! We have vacationed in Ste. Anne de Beaupre before, and searched for accommodations. We found the Auberge Sault-a-la-Puce and called Michel. He was very accommodating as we explained we would not arrive there until 10pm. We did, and were shown right to our room. Very comfortable bed and each room tastefully decorated and a private bath. The sound of the stream beside the house was soothing. In the morning I got a chance to see the house- inside and out- beautiful with decorations from around the world. And the size of those plants on the front porch- how do they do it? The breakfast was crazy delicious. I had a ratatouille omelette and my wife a smoked salmon with scrambled eggs... And quite a few cups of espresso. Enjoyed the front porch with the stream in the background before hiiting the road again. This was off our path but feel blessed to find this B&B... And that is what memories are made of. It's the journey- not the destination! Thank you Michel. I would recommend to friends and plan on returning again.
Nice B&B in good location
Fernweh3on 04/08/2015 08:49We found this B&B on our way from to St. Anne-de-Beaupré. The B&B is close to Quebec, the famous church of St. Anne-de-Beaupré and the Parc de la Chute the Montmorency. As it is some distance from Quebec, the prices are nothing compared to staying in Quebec, but still close by to visit it for a day.
There is quite a selection of different rooms in different styles, some with King size beds, others with Queen size beds, the Quenn size beds being slightly on the small side if you are tall. So check what you are booking.
Parking is right next to the B&B.
We enjoyed a sumptuous breakfast in a nice setting the next morning.
For dinner there was quite a nice restaurant close by (5 min. drive) with good Canadian food.
