Excellent Food and Drinks
v0yageur22on 18/11/2017 19:30The Aultbea Hotel, right on the water in Aultbea has two fabulous restaurants (bar and restaurant menus are available in both)—the Fat Whippet is the more formal restaurant overlooking the sea (and there really is a wonderful fat whippet walking around) and the Convoy Tavern is the bar. The food is creative, fresh, locally sourced, and absolutely delicious. We ate here three nights in a row and tried different things every night and were never disappointed. The service is warm and friendly and welcoming—this is worth a trip if you are in Wester Ross.
Excellent food served by two lovely hosts
mavismarshallon 28/10/2017 19:18What a difference new owners make. Last time we visited the hotel it was a very bleak, un-inviting and we felt very unwelcome. Your visit this time was completely different. The hosts were very welcoming and the food was of a very good standard. We enjoyed our meal so much we went back the following evening. Great venue with a great atmosphere and service could not be faulted. We will be back next year not only to eat but to stat.

drillerkc74on 27/10/2017 21:55Spent 2 nights here. Great in late October. very quiet town! good hiking we ate in the pub each night as dining room was a little pricey. Good food, good service. Room with view of loch. Large , well furnished. The guys running the lodge now are doing a great job.!
Superb place to stop on west coast
gbe01on 25/10/2017 18:07Had the good fortune to book in for a couple of nights before the end of the season. The accommodation is very comfortable and the food is excellent. Hosts were very friendly and professional making the whole experience wonderful.
The area is visually stunning and a true alternative to Skye for photographs. Great history and beaches.
When the weather closed in we had the pleasure of being warm and dry whilst admiring the ever changing skies.
Welcoming, warm & good food
Christine Fon 18/10/2017 12:56Loved this hotel. Welcoming hosts, good decor, and for once a great bar with a great choice of gins and bar food. Our room was warm with a really comfortable and big bed. The view was amazing and as the wind blew we felt so warm & cosy under a big fluffy duvet. The restaurant was excellent, specialising in local foods. We had good wines. We wil ome back here. A great stop if doing the NC500.
Just one little niggle, the lighting was just a little too subtle in the dining room, i had to put reading glasses on in order to see my food! But loved it none the less.
