Stayed here when my nephew was getting married in town. Beautiful hotel, nice restaurants and bar. Lobby is lovely with fireplace and comfy couches overlooking the golf course. Staff was very friendly. Rooms have been remodeled and were clean except my daughter had to have a spot on a chair cleaned. Would recommend. Close to everything.
Avalon Lakes inn and Resort Spa and Conference Centre has something for everyone

We returned to Avalon Inn and Resort on September 18 2017 with 10 golfers. We were treated excellent at the Avalon Inn and Resort and we found the same treatment at all three of the Championship golf courses, from the club house, to the starter, the staff at the restaurant and everyone in between.
They now recognize us as the Canadians, and can't believe we have so many left handed golfers in one group.. The rooms at the Inn are clean, comfortable, a large TV, and bar fridge that is second to none in every room. The beds were as comfortable as I have found in the most expensive hotels. We went to Gatsby's where each morning we were provided with a fresh hot breakfast, included in our stay a great way to start the day. We also ate twice at Gatsby's for dinner as this was the first time we have been here since it opened for dinner. The menu was fantastic, and the service excellent. A very nice atmosphere for dinner.
All the restaurants at all three courses had a great menu and the service was excellent. We normally had both lunch and dinner at the courses we played. We love the Grille restaurant at Squaw Creek, where you can eat outdoors surrounded by large TV's, and it has a huge bar.
Our group we call the Tour, came here for the golf, and played 36 holes a day. The fairways were manicured, the greens rolled true and were fairly fast. We noticed they were doing a lot of work cleaning out the ruff which should make it a lot easier to find your ball when it goes a stray.
Squaw Creek, Avalon Lakes and Avalon at Buhl are the championship courses that fall under this resort, and my guys like them all. While we were at the resort for five days, we have full member privileges and can use all amenities. Pool, unlimited driving range, bars, and restaurants. There is no doubt this is a golfers paradise and it really is hard to go anywhere else, everything is so handy to the area. The course also have a free shuttle to the other two courses, but because we have designated drivers we would drive to both Squaw and Buhl. Squaw is ten minutes down the road and Buhl would be about 30 minutes.. the road, The courses all are dressed out in beautiful flower gardens, nice homes adjacent to some holes on the course.
We will definitely be returning in the Spring and do it all again.
Cory has looked after us and provided any assistance we needed to make the trip perfect.
Great Resort for All

Stayed for one night for a golf trip - the resort is very nicely appointed. Of course, the golf course is beautiful and challenging. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The resort has three restaurants and a lobby bar. Gatsby's: fine dining, Chop House: steak house and the more casual restaurant and bar adjacent to the pro shop. We ate in Gatsby's for dinner and breakfast! Excellent! Would be great for all seasons with a large fitness center, indoor and outdoor pool and indoor tennis courts in addition to golf. We sat in the indoor pool after dinner to relax! The room was impeccably clean, large and very comfortable! Décor and atmosphere was nice without being overdone. Everyone was friendly and helpful. There was a large party and wedding that weekend but it was quiet and did not feel crowded.
Business meeting on the greens

We had a four day meeting at this wonderful resort. The meeting rooms were well laid out and the food service was spot on.
After the meeting we hung out at the Olympic pool size. I'm not a golfer but the golf course was gorgeous. The rooms were large and comfy, the bed was great. There was a large flat screen TV which put me to sleep. Great place to stay. They have the AC unit that is build in below the window and was noisy on high. but ok on low speed.
Such potential

I've stayed at the Avalon twice now for lengthy trips.
Both times I have not enjoyed my stay due to the terrible design choices made for the renovation.
I travel a lot, and the things a traveler wants are centered around comfort and ease of use. The rooms should be well lit and space maximized. The walls should not be so dark that all light is absorbed. This made shaving and dressing a difficult task.
The place has such great potential, but was ruined by design choices that boggle the mind.
On the plus side, the staff is wonderful.
