Our stray at Avanti Holiday Village in October 2016 was an absolute delight. The village was very pleasant with clean well appointed apartments which seemed to provide maximum privacy even though there were other apartments nearby. The hotel complex including the pool restaurant and reception was very close by and the village entertainment shops and restaurant/bar outlets were not to close but not to far away. The pool was excellent and the bar staff extremely friendly which made for a great atmosphere during the day. The animations team were exceptional and ensured a great days activities and dancing was available for all who had the energy. Food was plentiful and of a good standard though we were only bed and breakfast. We went out - off complex - most nights and there were lots of bars and restaurants close by and even Paphos centre was just a 20 to 30 minute stroll along a scenic and pleasant beachside path. we hired a car one day to do a tour of Troudos mountains and Limassol and the sovereign base area (we have memories of military service in Cyprus). We hired jet skis from the beach side close to the Avanti complex. We would thoroughly recommend Avanti to both couples and families and would definitely return one day in the future.

Avanti Village

This was my 3rd trip to Cyprus but my first stay in the Avanti Village resort in Paphos.
What a joy this was. I stayed in an apartment and first impressions were a well presented facility and spotlessly clean. Also I noted the hotel had provided plug adapters for their customers which I've never experienced before at any hotel neither in Cyprus or Egypt or the Caribbean. This is all about customer service and attention to detail.
This set the tone of the holiday. All the Hotel facilities were excellent even being able to find some shade from sun, if required, around the pool midday !
The eating areas and restaurant were all well upto standard and all staff were very kind and helpful at all times.
I can't recommend the Avanti Village or its adjoining hotel enough. So much so, that I have already booked a return trip to the Avanti next year with Thomsons.

Could be excellent but it's pot luck!

Our stay could have been better and more peaceful – It’s really pot luck if you get an apartment that is peaceful. For example, if it was near the Piazza, you may not get any sleep until 2am or if it was on the ground floor in certain locations, you will be overlooked by passers by (and get lots of ants, some that are big – you may need to get some ant killer from the local supermarket!) or if you are very unlucky, then you may have very noisy neighbours! The apartments themselves are clean and comfortable - some have plenty of utensils and some don’t! First floor apartments in the middle of the complex, either overlooking the road or overlooking the fields are best. The pool is good. The deep end is not very deep – you can stand and still be up to your shoulder, even for a small person like me. I never saw any one using the lazy river, though in the photos it looked very inviting – it was small. You will need to have your own inflatable toys/rings, etc. The local supermarket has a pump, so you can blow it up – the supermarket on Aliathon village next door allows you to use the pump yourself, but I don’t know if you have to make a purchase first. However, the sunbeds are not clean and look like they have never been cleaned, so pool towels are necessary (which are freely available).
The coast is within 5 mins walk but the closest beach is rocky. You can walk a bit more (towards the harbour) and be at the small sandy public beach where there is also a car park. Also by the coast is a great kiosk bar opposite Octopus watersports where you can have a fairly cheap drink and sit overlooking the beach. Carry on walking to the harbour (which will take about 30mins on a slow stroll) by the beach and you’ll have plenty of bars and restaurants. If you are self catering, then the Papantinous supermarket near the bus station is a must – it’s cheaper than the local supermarket and has everything you will need, including fresh bread. The local supermarket on Avanti village also has some fresh bread delivered in the mornings. There is also the archaeological site at the harbour, which is worth a visit. In terms of restaurants, the Spice Hut on the Aliathon Village Piazza, next door to the Avanti Village, is absolutely brilliant – food is delicious and not very oily! There is also a Haagen Daz there as well.
We booked a hire car from Zest car hire, which is the online agent and the supplier was actually Kyprexxo car hire, which promptly delivered the car to the hotel and collected it from the hotel without any fuss or problems. The car was in good condition with some scratches around the sides, but because I had taken out the extra insurance (from Zest for a little extra), they didn’t worry about recording the damage that was already there. He also wasn’t worried if it was returned with damage as it was fully covered and as long as it was returned with the same amount of fuel. He was happy for us to take photos if we were worried. Also, we were given an automatic, (even though we booked a manual), which was lucky because it helped with going up and down steep hills in the mountains and the supermarket car park! If you do go to the mountains, make sure you fill up before you go and if you find a petrol station there, then fill up again, because petrol stations are very few and far between! We were lucky to find a petrol station just in time before completely running out. In Troodos mountains, it’s worth walking up the short trail to Caledonia waterfalls – start at the Trout farm end near Platres, not the Troodos square end, because it’s a shorter walk (it’s 2.5 km up hill, but fairly easy and takes about 40mins slow walk, but about 25 mins fast. Good shoes will help, but we managed with sandals!).
Paphos Zoo is OK. The parrot show is good, but I’ve seen better. The zoo has mainly birds – lots of different species of parrots. They have a few big animals - a couple of lions, few tigers, one elephant, a couple of crocs and a good selection of snakes and spiders! It’s good for a few hours with the kids. If you go to Limassol Castle, be aware that there are no road signs to guide you there! Look on Google maps for Limassol Marina, which they refer to as the Old Port and the castle is right next to the marina. If driving, look out for a small roundabout with a tree in the middle and tourist information office off of it – the castle is off that roundabout surrounded by restaurants. You will need to park in one of the pay and display parking nearby (1 Euro for 1hr) and walk.

Great holiday here

This was mine and my girlfriend's first holiday together. And what can I say really .. the avanti village was amazing. The staff were really friendly and the hotel it's self was clean and 5* our room got cleaned every day and fresh towels put out for us. It's located very close to bars and restaurants and the beach and harbour. This was by far the best hotel I've stayed in whilst I've been abroad . Also on my girlfriend's birthday the staff left a bottle of champagne and a card in our room which was a really touching sentiment to this place. They go all out to help you and make you feel welcome here. Can not fault this place at all. We will definitely be booking here again in the future with no doubts in our mins. Lastly thank you for great stay and thank you to all the staff in the avanti village
