I expected this hotel to be a special boutique experience. The location, arrival, and lobby lived up to the expectations but I felt the rooms fell a little short. The location is central, convenient to all areas in Santa Ana, Irvine, and Orange County. For the arts lover, everything is right outside the front door. The lobby is welcoming and unique, and the hotel has a pool, restaurant, workout room, and business centre. The location and layout of the amenities is where it starts to let down. The business centre is essentially in a entrance lobby and you have to walk through a wing of rooms to get to the restaurant. The rooms are well appointed and clean, but tend to feel somewhat standard and don't live up to the boutique expectation. Also, because the wings are so long, I had issues with the heater generating enough warm air to heat my room. My stay was during a period of high demand in Orange County so price was an issue for me as well. Overall a nice property but I would think of it as a more typical leisure hotel than a boutique property.

Room was nice but construction facing my room was loud especially early mornings. I was told check in was 3:00pm. My room was ready until almost 4:00pm. I had to sit in the lobby and wait. They kept telling me 5-10 more minutes.
Room seemed a tad expensive for what you get.

I've been traveling to Irvine for YEARS and it isn't short on options. That being said, I've not found one that really has the potential to be my "home away from home" when I'm working in this location. Well, I think I've FINALLY found it. HUGE plus for SPG members whose only other option was the Westin nearby.
The rooms are very spacious and BRIGHT and SANS carpet - i consider that a bonus! Luggage easily wheels and no questioning WHEN the last time the floors were cleaned.
The staff is the other plus. I've never seen so many smiles and helpful people. It made me feel like I was in Texas - I really hope they keep this up and don't lose this. It's definitely NOTICED and appreciated!!
The fitness center is adeqaute - it could stand to be larger - it filled up pretty quick - maybe one less stair stepper and 1 more elliptical ... the sauna also didnt seem to be working but im sure if I would have bothered asking it would have been addressed.
Most rooms had sliding doors that opened which I consider really great - especially on a nice cool morning. Why AC when you can have a nice breeze... there must be a water feature because there was a very pleasant sound of running water outside.
My ONLY critique at this point would be two small points which should be relatively easy to address. There is no tea service in the room. All you need is 2 tea bags - and that's fixed. The Kurig coffee pods are great for coffee drinkers - I poured water in the Kurig to heat up water and had to have room service bring up a tea service. I've never had a hotel not have tea in all my travels - It also would be great to have a plug by the desk so all your devices aren't piled right next to you on the nightstand.

A 2 night stay was very pleasant. The hotel is tucked away behind a performing arts center and some office buildings (some new apartments are being built nearby, but noise of that is limited). Staff was friendly, and lobby was modern, airy, and inviting. Room was clean and bright, and nicely decorated in a contemporary style. Restaurant was good (had breakfast) and the bar was also nice, intimate, quiet space.for a 'night cap'. Relatively easy access to the freeway, and very close to South Coast Plaza shopping center. Convenient parking garage for self-parking. Overall, a really nice experience.

It's a beautiful property but what makes it truly terrific is the staff. Catering to the OC clientele can't be easy, they're very accommodating in the most professional way. Definitely coming back. Thanks for looking after me and my flight delay!
If you love shopping, this is as close to Mecca as you can get. A little light on the nightlife unless your attending the nearby performing arts center, but located on the property is the Silver Trumpet and it's pretty a classy place too.
Valet or nearby sel park. Nice pool and hot tub while not big, were big enough. Same with the rooms, well appointed and comfortable with big showers. Plenty of power outlets, I really appreciate that. Enjoy your stay here!
