What People are saying
only for the insensitive and athletic types

I have gone to 5 or 6 different places in India for Ayurvedic treatments, and though none were perfect, there were many more positive than negative points to most -
THIS place, however, was a total disaster - terrible food, really crazy chef, selfish, rude doctors in the worst possible environment for these kinds of treatments - noisy, disorganized, and only one really skilled and caring treatment therapist, who by now has been long gone.
The manager was putting on such a good act at being charming and caring that took the decision to come, without putting in sufficient time to properly research the place beforehand. BIG mistake !
No privacy or peace, even though the campus was isolated - workmen hammering and building shortly after I had arrived, and I could not enjoy my balcony or keep the drapes open for long because there were constantly workmen all day long, sometimes just standing around and staring -
The general manager, a female, had zero interest in disturbing the status quo - she knew the chef was lousy, and perhaps may have had some awareness of some of the many deficiencies there, but did not seem to want to make the effort to get better staff - most of who had a very unprofessional attitude - again, particularly the 2 doctors.
The female doctor wore a lot of artificially scented perfume, which was highly inappropriate in an Ayurvedic retreat - when taking the treatments the body and mind normally become very tender, open and sensitive - I for one did not appreciate having to inhale all the chemicals and the fake smell when she sat in my room or wiggled by.
My motive for coming was to get some deep rest, relaxation and good Ayurvedic medical consultations (that never happened) and treatments (only when that one therapist was available).
I couldn't take it anymore and left half way through, to attend a different clinic much farther away. The staff behavior was just as bizarre as it was during my stay - the very people that caused me difficulties and unhappiness were standing there when I came down with my luggage to the taxi - no doubt, because their manager told them to - I was disgusted - and said my good-byes to a few ladies with whom I could share my heart and some friendship with -
I was never in my life so glad to escape as I was from there -
A total waste of time and money - and I left with much more stress than I came with and the few treatments I had were almost useless - the lack of cleanliness, peace and calm during the process destroyed any sort of relaxation response.
The old man who owned the whole thing seemed to have NO idea of what was really going on behind the scenes, he just sat on the sitout or wandered around inside the main building, trying to avoid eye contact so he wouldn't have to interract with the guests.
Worse place I've every been to in all my life - I can't recommend it for any reason at all.
Only for rejuvenating purpose

The people are nice and the place is neat but this is not the place to go for any treatment. If you just want to rejuvenate yourself and looking for an average price, this is a place to go. But, do not go for any treatment. Find a better place for treatment purposes. I went for a treatment with two other people and it was a waste for us.

My parents had stayed at this place for 3 days and their experience was awesome.
The location was very peaceful and green.
The place offers a very healthy rejuvenation programme with great food, extremely caring staff and healthy environment at a very reasonable rate.
My parents could also visit the market nearby on day 1 and explore the city.
However, with the excellent massages and other things planned out for the whole day, they didn't get any time to go out which I believe is a positive point.
The office manager, Bindu was a very pleasant host and she made sure that our experience became the best and not just good.
Like someone has already said ,the greatest asset of this place are the people who run it.
They were extremely affectionate and caring.
My mother did not like the breakfast menu one day so they specially made something for her which she would like.
My parents had visited a more famous Ayurveda center last year but this one has become their favorite specially because of the staff.
The only regret my parents had was that they booked for only 3 days :)
Overall, it is worth every penny to spend a week's time here and a must go to place for people who are looking for a relaxed and healthy time off from their busy schedule.
Peace and healing

I found my stay at Ayuryogashram to be peaceful and uplifting. I was collected from the airport and driven to the beautiful retreat. Here, I found Bindu (office manager) to be most accommodating and the doctors to listen carefully before prescribing treatment. Mealtimes were incredible. By far the most delicious food I've eaten in India. The treatments were x 2 per day and included oil massage, milk and herbal treatments. I came because of a leg discrepancy which has caused me problems all my life. The women who treated me here were compassionate and caring. Yoga each morning is at 7.30am in a separate building. The focus here was on breathing exercises and I felt myself get stronger over the course of the stay. Lucky for me, there was a dance festival on during my time in Kerala and Bindu organised for us to travel and watch a Kuchipudi performance. All in all the stay here has helped me get stronger. Thank you so much.
