Azalai is my preferable Hotel since 2014. staying there for severable moths. It is a very nice & safe place to be in Bissau. but there is still more to do in term of restaurant ( Price & boys not pleasant) and WIFI availability / stability in order to be at the level of a real **** Hotel. all together, the place is cool and the style of rooms is very suitable for a long term accommodation.

On and off we have stayed at the Azalai for several months. The reason was not preference but lack of choice. We regularly had problems with getting the room reasonably clean and front desk staff can be outrageously rude. They make you pay every Thursday even though you're staying two months! We spoke to the director twice who promised improvements but nothing materialised and we finally left for another proper 5 star hotel that reopened (Ledger). The food is ok but boy they make you wait for it! The restaurant is also pricey
Not a 4 stars hotel!

This hotel is not at the level of a 4 stars hotel! Dirty rooms, reception is not pleasant, poor Internet connection, no HD TV quality. The only satisfying point is that both english and french are spoken at reception!
Tranquilidade em Bissau

Away from the city centre, but close enough to easily commute there. This hotel was an Army Mess during the colonial time. It one of the safest hotels in the city. It is clean, it has pool, restaurant and conference area. A good choice when visiting Bissau.
Sunday brunch.

This place is pretty easy to find as it is along the main road. This place is huge with a huge swimming pool, and also a baby swimming pool which is perfect when you have kids. The food is really good and you have a variety of seafoods to choose from. The dessert is also quite good compared to a lot of local restaurants.
