Beautiful experience in the hills of Arezzo
Carpongon 12/10/2017 18:12It was our delight to stay at the beautiful Hotel Badia di Pomaio for 10 days. This hill side Abbey converted to a hotel was the perfect romantic place to celebrate our 17th wedding anniversary! The chef Giuseppe made us a special dinner with candle light and excellent wine choices which we thoroughly enjoyed. The stunning views from the window in our beautiful and spacious room just added to our delight.. Great Tuscan dishes and wine greeted us daily.. The staff of Luiqi, Gianlucca, Alessandro and Daniella were wonderful hosts who could not do more to make our stay a delight. Another trip to Tuscany would definitely bring us back to Hotel Badia di Pomaio.

Visi2rson 24/09/2017 09:29We stayed for one week at the beginning of September. The hotel is a nine minute drive up a hill from the outskirts of Arezzo. There is plenty of parking. The rooms are in the eves of the building and can get very hot. The air con is very noisy and not very efficient. The restaurant is good but fairly expensive and it takes 25 minutes by car to get to any other restaurant. Breakfast is good. The bread in that area is the hard dry unsalted variety in all the restaurants but there are plenty of other cold foods on the breakfast tables. The pool was too cold to swim in. The staff are reasonably friendly and if you ask for anything they will do what they can. A wild boar got into the grounds whilst we were there and destroyed the lawn. The hotel is closing for refurbishment in November and some of the staff were leaving. It is under new management and will possibly be quite different when reopened. The Podare di Pomaio Vineyard is just below the hotel and our visit was one of the highlights of our holiday. The view from the hotel went a long way over Arezzo and sometimes we were above the cloud. It was cooler up at the hotel than in Arezzo.
Fantastic location with great views just outside Arezzo
AileeLongnoUKon 23/06/2017 18:11Despite the scary drive it's worth it the location is stunning and there always seems to be a breeze even on hot days. We had a few snags in our stay but the staff rose to the challenge so that we hardly noticed. Arezzo is wonderful and easy to find. The food and wine were also of a high standard, especially the night when we had home cooked food

donna867on 25/05/2017 21:32We stayed at Hotel Badia di Pomaio for five days to celebrate my birthday and it was wonderful. It is a beautiful and peaceful piece of paradise, nestled high up on the hillside with fantastic views of Arezzo and the wider Tuscan landscape.
When we arrived we were delighted with our room and blown away by the views we had from both our bedroom and bathroom windows. The room was impeccably clean and decked out in beautiful traditional furniture.
Pulling up in the driveway each day you feel as though you have arrived at your very own Tuscan chateau. The food is superb, with the menu featuring local produce and traditional Tuscan dishes. The swimming pool is lovely and you get to enjoy it with stunning views, a cold beer and a glass of the finest Italian prosecco!
Alessandro and the team were fantastic hosts and couldn't do enough for us from start to finish, they made our stay very special indeed. If you're looking for a romantic break in Tuscany then we couldn't recommend Hotel Badia di Pomaio enough. We can't wait to go back now!

Ricky Pon 20/05/2017 22:25we was there for 1 night on our Italian road trip, the place is stunning, views amazing, bit of a hike to get up the hill to it in the dark but well worth it the following morning when you look out of your bedroom window, restaurant expensive but food was very good, we think it was an old monastery house.
