We went there in the summer and the room was alright but the walls are extremely thin and We could clearly hear people talking in other rooms. I had to go out and knock their door to tell them to keep the noises down. Our room was practically in the dining area and it made awkward for us to go out at times. I guess we were unlucky to get that room.
The people at the reception were nice and lovely.

we stayed end of May 4 nights at Hotel Baia Blu and really liked it. Nice, conveniently-located near both the seaside and the citiy centre. Nice room, nice bathroom with shower and toilet. Nice terrace (we were at top floor). Clean, silent (thanks to double-glass window, since the train is right in front of the hotel) . Good continental breakfast.
Very gentle welcome by the Owner and kind service by personnel.
Only minus: no parking place. You have to park far from hotel (5 min walk approx., it depends on how far you find a free parking)
in general a good quality stay, comfortable and to be suggested to other people

I stayed here last night for a brief layover before heading to Brescia. I had a double room that was small and cozy. It had 3 twin beds. I was afraid I was going to be cold because the blankets on each bed were very thin and you couldn't adjust the thermostat yourself. So I decided to leave my bathroom door open since the wall heater in there was running and sleep with my coat laid on top of the covers. I can't believe how wrong I was! By morning, I was so warm and toasty I'd kicked the coat off on the floor in my sleep and didn't even realize it! I guess it was just a matter of settling in from the outside cold and getting adjusted.
Breakfast was your typical European fare, but the staff hosts were very accommodating. Many times they anticipated your needs before you even asked for them. The majority of them did *not* speak English though so if you don't speak Italian or have a translator with you be prepared to be patient. They will definitely make every effort to figure out what you want even if you have to draw it on a piece of paper, pantomime it or point to a picture of it!

My daughter and I recently spent four nights at this hotel for which we had been unable to find any reviews. Our booking was in early August during the high season when hotel prices are at a premium. The price quoted was well below the average and we were not sure what to expect. However, on arrival it exceeded all our expectations. The hotel is in the process of being refurbished and we were given a good sized room with balcony. The bathroom was immaculate and the room nicely furnished. The room had air conditioning, a safe and TV. The breakfast was more than adequate and included fresh fruit, yogurt, cold meats, cheese, croissants and pastries.
The hotel is family owned and the staff were very friendly and helpful. They also speak some English. The hotel is located towards the back of the town and is about 5 minutes walk to the sea front but because we were there during the busy season we were happy to be away from the crowds.
I would certainly return to the Hotel Baia Blu if visiting Alassio again.
