I paid £105 to stay in this hotel, I just think is way to expensive for what they offer. Location was great, facing the river and within 5 minutes from the city center. Service was good.We paid trough booking.com and receptionist was insisting we had to pay again. Room very old, it was like going back 2 centuries, duvet and curtains gold color, bathroom tiny but have to say that everything very clean. Our stay was ok but would not pay this price again to stay here

This is definitely not a hotel for you if you are not able to go without modern amenities. However, if you like to experience more of a "culturistic" stay, it is perfect. Cons would be there is no lift/elevator; the WiFi is sketchy, no air conditioning, and some staff have better English than others. Pros would be the decor, the location, and the view of the Rhine from some rooms. The breakfast is an additional cost (8 Euros per person), but it was nice to be able to eat breakfast there. Would definitely considering staying here again.

10 mins walk from central rail station. In the heart of the old town with a multitude of restaurants and bars to choose from. A stone's throw from the Rhine. We got a 2 bed apartment just off the hotel. Very spacious , clean an comfortable . A quiet location in the heart of the town. Windows overlooking tree filled courtyard. Rutgers bar around the corner has to be the cheapest bar in Cologne. I will be back

This was my second stay at Hotel Hayk. I really enjoyed staying here in December with my husband during the Christmas markets so we decided to book again, this time with a group of 4. We booked a Standard Apartment listed to have two queen beds and a view. However, we were put in an apartment across the street, with a door direct from the street. At first, the place seemed fine- it was cute, clean, and cool (which was nice during the heat wave Cologne was experiencing). But I was incredibly disappointed with the beds. The one actual bed was very hard and the second "bed" was a couch with and ottoman propped up next to it and a bed pad laying on top. It was not comfortable and the ottoman actually collapsed twice. The first time they fixed it and the second time happened in the middle of the night so we just had to deal with it. I was really not happy that I paid for two beds and did not get them, especially when there was no indication The staff was not very friendly and gave attitude when we only wanted coffee in the morning, not the "breakfast" they offered.
Overall, I will not stay here again.

It's a good experience to stay at the old town in Cologne. The hotel provides you accommodation in old buildings with beautiful around area.
You can find a lot of restaurants, shops, markets and cafes around.
Don't miss to visit the chocolate museum.
