Still as charming. Food still fabulous
Gregalfaon 19/11/2017 20:45Initially disappointed to be allocated room in river annexe. The rooms there are the ones to have. Balcony and plenty of space. Was offered a room in main hotel.
Staff are lovely people and whole experience one of understated class.
Less than 2 hours from Gla or Edi. Well worth the trip. Beautiful grounds too.

Beautiful situation on the river Tay, giving access to many attractive walks.
Room
Large and well appointed, with several windows giving views to the forest; an excellent shower and separate bath,.
Public areas
Very attractive and well furnished lounges and bar.
Service
Excellent, friendly staff who were very helpful to tailor the menu to suit our needs.
Food
Well presented, interesting items for both dinner and breakfast. Good, varied wine list.
Grubby and tired
seabhagon 19/11/2017 10:39The house is beautiful. A classic country house hotel. The food was lovely and the service in the restaurant was excellent. Unfortunately the rest of the experience was disappointing. The double room was fine but the decor shabby. The mirror was hanging off inside the wardrobe. The wiring was very DIY with a supermarket extension cable dangling to supply the TV. The bathroom was filthy with thick dust on the floor and hair in the bath. There were holes in the paintwork which was badly fingermarked and the hook was hanging off the wall. The housekeeping staff were moving furniture and crashing about with hoovers by 9am on the Sunday Nd the corridors were blocked with linen and cleaning boxes. I raised this with front of house who said that they were busy and what did I expect. Very expensive for a poor experience.
Top notch food
Stuartlaurieon 18/11/2017 09:58Spent one night here, beautiful setting, friendly staff and the food was excellent. Only minor comment that perhaps some gentle background music would increase it ambience and atmosphere but totally get the peace of not having any.
Def worth a visit

rosemary ron 10/11/2017 18:56Took my cousin who has never been to Scotland up the Ballathie and had a lovely bar snack. She loved the building and as ever the service was very attentive. Always enjoy the ambience and will be back.
