Stayed in a luxury room last weekend, we were warmly greeted by Maire on reception on arrival. We had to wait till 330 pm for check in as our room was not ready . We enjoyed a coffee by the roaring fire as we waited. Our room was amazing, newly decorated and was huge. Very well fitted out , super king size bed walk in wardrobe spacious bathroom. Dirty towels were still in room when we checked in ! A little oversight by house keeping. We dined in the bar as we wanted to watch the rugby. I had oysters and ribeye, both great , great flavor on steak with amazing pepper sauce . My wife had the fillet and again it was amazing. I would like to see more fish on the bar menu as it is called The Fisherman Pub , but this is just a personal choice. Overall a warm cosy hotel to stay in Galway and we look forward to a return visit !!

My husband and I spent 3 nights at Ballynahinch during our recent trip to Ireland. This was our fourth visit there. We just love this hotel. It's luxurious, charming, cozy, elegant, lovely....I could just keep going on with this description. Our room was a luxury double and had three bay windows overlooking the beautiful grounds and river. It was immaculately clean and the bed was very comfortable. It had a large dressing room/closet and a very spacious bathroom with a big walk in shower and also a tub.
The common areas of the hotel are stunning. There are several rooms to enjoy and each usually has its own fireplace burning. You can imagine the wonderful scent.
The dining room is elegant and offered a wonderful menu. The food was delicious and generous. Their Fisherman's Pub also offers great food and the ambiance can't be beat.
Every staff member was friendly, professional and treated us very well. The grounds are gorgeous and they offer several walks you can take on your own or with a guide.
We very highly recommend Ballynahinch to anyone who plans to come to Connemara. You will not be disappointed.

Stayed here for a birthday treat ....the Riverside Suite was beautiful .....food .....staff .....all exquisite ......a lovely experience ....lots of nice walks in the grounds and did clay pigeon shooting with Shane ......well worth it ....

For two American couples on their first tour of Ireland, arriving at this castle on a misty autumn day can only be described as magical. We spent two nights in the lower rent rooms toward the back, and they were the most luxurious accommodations we had during our 12 day tour. The ground are spectacular and we devoted one day to relaxing and walking through the woods, followed by nursing Irish Coffees while sitting on luxurious leather couches in front of a roaring fire. It was magical. One star off for the meal/service in the dining room which was confused and off-putting (multiple servers attending to our table with no coherent service approach and frankly a little bit of attitude.) Would recommend skipping the dining room and driving to nearby Clifden for a great seafood dinner. The pub food and service were also good. Great seafood chowder in the pub. Beyond the dining room experience , it was a perfect stay.

Have just returned from a wedding at the wonderful Ballynahinch Castle. The setting is spectacular, the staff were amazing and the food was delicious.
I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Ballynahinch Castle to anyone.
