Cancelled my booking with no explaination

I had booked and paid for a 2 night stay and a week before I got a phone call to say she was cancelling my booking. No reason or anything. Offered to give me her friends number who would be able to accommodate me but I declined.
A couple of days later looked online and the dates we were booked in for were still showing as available!
Poor show
A nice B&B with friendly owners

This old public house off the beaten track has been converted to B&B by the owners, Colin and Linda. When we turned up, we were welcomed with a cuppa and a slice of excellent date cake (and a choice of biscuit).
Nothing is too much trouble for Linda and Colin: the first night, the heating wasn't working, due a timer issue based on a power cut the day before. As soon as this was mentioned, it was fixed. The heating was timed, and overnight, the temperature dropped quite alarmingly - this was a problem for my disabled wife who found it very difficult to sleep. A quick mention to Linda, and the heating was kept on all the time for us.
The room we were in was not plush, but was good enough. A small TV, tea making stuff and plenty of storage space along with a bathroom (bath and hand-held shower, no shower cubicle itself).
Good breakfast, with a rather wonderful home made marmalade that has more bite than shop-bought stuff.
A quiet location - complete with friendly house cat!
Best place to stay

Myself and my 3 sisters visit shrewsbury at least twice a year and have stayed at several other larger accommodations and my opinion the barley mow outshine all others. The rooms are clean and easily accommodated 4 adults, the host were friendly and had great knowledge on places to visit, grounds is beautiful and breakfast was wonderful 5*.

I booked to stay here for 2 nights over a weekend with my parents, aunty and boyfriend, to attend a family wedding nearby. After eating at a pub locally we arrived to a warm welcome from Linda who showed us to our rooms. We were also given a list of breakfast options to select ready for the following morning and an extra key so we could get back in after the evening wedding celebrations the next day!
The rooms were very clean with nice tea and coffee making facilities, a TV and plenty of towels. The bed was EXTREMELY comfortable and made for a good night's sleep in what were new surroundings.
The breakfast was tasty and the setting nice and relaxed. If you need somewhere cosy but comfortable to stay in the picturesque Shropshire countryside then this is a great choice, and very close to Shrewsbury. Linda provided help whenever she could, even after we had left, and very much reflected the hostess with the mostess!
Perfect

If you are looking for a 5* modern state of the art hotel with all mod cons then this is not the place for you. However, if you are looking for cosy, home from home accommodation with a comfortable bed, quality bed linen, delicious breakfast and 2 lovely hosts, then look no further. On arrival we were greeted by Colin who was busy in the beautiful garden then handed over to Linda who served up a much welcome offer of a hot drink accompanied by my all time favourite lemon drizzle cake, so fresh it was still warm, and lovely biscuits. Room was clean and comfortable with everything needed to make our 3 night stay perfect. Breakfast is chosen the night before which means there is no waiting around and everything was cooked well and obvious good quality ingredients...deepest yellow free range eggs I have ever seen. Home made jam and marmalade with toast rounded off the breakfast nicely. Linda seemed to be there whenever we entered the house, making sure we had everything we needed, along with great tips on local pubs and restaurants. Oh and who could forget the adorable Felix, a little ginger bobtail cat who wags his tail when he is happy!! Would definitely stay again.
