Our room was two flights of stairs up to the third level to a front room facing west, the stairs were steep but didn't cause us any problems with luggage. We had trouble with the internet initially but Alan, the owner, was able remedy this for us although it was still very slow. We were able to choose from full English or continental breakfast and there was ample to keep us going until lunch time. We would be happy to stay again.

Stayed here 2 nights. Owner very helpful. On arrival we were given advice on where to visit and also supplied with a parking ticket so we could park on the Street outside. The room was only small but very clean and the breakfast was excellent with a good choice and good quality sausage and Bacon. It was about a 15 minute walk to the centre of York but there were a few little restaurants near by. We had a few problems with WIFI but nothing serious.

We stayed midweek to celebrate our wedding anniversary, having never been to York before. We were greeted warmly and were also given very clear directions to the city centre, this was a nice leisurely 10/15 minutes walk from the centre. The room was very clean, small (but this didn't bother us) with ensuite facilities. We had tea and coffee, including biscuits, hot chocolate and bottled water. Although it would have been nice for this to have had this replenished during our stay.
Breakfast was excellent, Full English, Fruit, yoghurt, cereals and Tea and coffee. Everything you could possibly want. Parking was great, we were given a permit to park right outside during our stay. You may struggle to park again if you use your car when coming back again to park outside the B&B as was the case for other guests we found. However we didn't need to use our car during our stay so it stayed where we parked throughout our stay.
We wouldn't hesitate to use this B&B again. Thank you to the owners for making our stay in York pleasant and an enjoyable one.

Very friendly owners who made us feel extremely welcome and gave us clear directions to the city centre. The room we stayed in on *very* short notice was extremely clean and tidy and had all of the facilities we could have really asked for from a B&B and the parking was not an issue despite it being a fairly busy street. Breakfast was nice and they accommodated for a vegetarian diet, which was excellent. We will stay here again when we come back to York, no doubt. I fully recommend this B&B.

We stayed here for two nights, having never been to York before. Had a fabulous time. This guest-house is not to far from the city center and not too close, about a nice 15 minute walk. Our room was lovely & modern. Very clean. Everything we needed. Our bed was huge and very comfy. Service was brilliant. Breakfast in the dining room was lovely & cozy. A good menu to choose from. Coffee and English breakfast was superb. The owners Alan & Kristina run the Barrington House perfectly. I would highly recommend.
