What People are saying

Coffee and cake

Lavarcham on 15/11/2017 13:03

The house is set in attractive gardens. The bar area has a small lounge which is where we were served coffee and cake. The presence of a small team of people doing a fashion photo shoot was a mixed blessing of some interest but also disruption. So few decent places for coffee in and around Preston, it was quite nice to find an alternative.

Needs some work

Patrick C on 28/10/2017 10:33

It's setting is very pretty, and the building facade is very attractive, as the pictures suggest. You're not shipped off to some hideous extensio like other hotels I've visited.

The staff were warm and welcoming, offered assistance with my luggage.

The room, although vast was to be frank, a disappointment. The carpet rustled as one walk across it, due to the underlay, The bed was comfortable, but only a standard double, thankfully I was on my own. The pillows and quilt were man made fibres, I only had one pillow, no spares in wardrobe.

There was a door into the next room, from which I could hear the guy next door coughing and the news on his television. Again, thankfully I was travelling alone, and not there for a night of passion!

The bathroom was a completely outdated and smelt of damp, beige 80's suite, with vinyl floor, huge crack in sink. Was more akin to a student let. That said, it was clean.

Alarm call was on the dot. Breakfast was very pleasant, good spread, good quality cooked breakfast, except beans were like mushy peas. Staff were professional and friendly. The interior design of the breakfast suite was very pleasant.

All in all, having paid £99, b&b for my stay, I felt there was value reflected in the price.

However, I'd have happily paid more to stay if you invested the extra in the property.
So Bartle Hall, back yourself, put your prices up and invest! You've a stunning location and property, good staff, your interior design lets you down.

PS. I'm an interior architect, In the boutique hotel sector.

Another great stay

Our second time at this hotel. Each time we just stayed one night, on our way home. The setting is so lovely. Even though there was a storm that night, we never heard a thing. Just had a standard room, but very comfortable and had everything we needed. Friends joined us for dinner and the food was very good. Breakfast is amazing. Lots of it and nicely cooked. The staff are exceptionally friendly. Will certainly stay again.

Afternoon tea at Bartle Hall Hotel

germinal123 on 28/09/2017 18:55

First of all the setting was lovely. The afternoon tea was absolutely fantastic. We began with a tiny cup of vegetable broth and a small, hot sausage roll. We had a large pot of tea, which was renewed regularly for us. Then came a stand with four sandwiches each, ham, chicken, egg and cucumber. We also had a tiny chocolate panna cotta, a small lemon meringue pie and a slice of rich fruit cake with a piece of cheese on top. On the top level of the cake stand were two different varieties of scone, plus a pot of cream and two tiny jars of jam. We felt delightfully full. It was such a beautiful afternoon that we went and sat outside in the sun in the lovely grounds afterwards.

Beautiful Venue

what a beautiful venue for any wedding set out in the country side my niece got married at the weekend there outside thankfully the rain held off all day so it was fantastic. The food was excellent and everything was perfect the room was dressed beautifully. The only thing I could say bad that there was not enough bar staff on through the day and especially at the evening event people were complaining they had to wait ages for a drink. The room I had was very comfortable and the bed very comfy breakfast was just what you needed the morning after would definitely recommend this venue
