Our stay at the Basadre Suites Boutique Hotel was quite comfortable and we enjoyed it. The first night our room did not have heat. We were moved to an upgraded suite that was lovely and warm. The breakfast each morning was delicious. The staff was wonderful. All the receptionists spoke English and translated on our behalf to arrange our desired activities. Our driver Luis worked for the hotel, ended up as our guide for the entire trip. He took us everywhere and anywhere with a smile! Perfect accommodations if your on a budget, want a safe and central location, and prefer a boutique inn experience to that of a hotel.

We stayed here for one night before leaving for Cuzco. It seems strange that some of the pictures on trip advisor seem nice because our room was extremely dirty and gross. We found a number of cockroaches in our room and the bathroom was extremely dirty. Also, there were spider webs on the chandelier.
The location is good and the staff seems pretty nice although not very knowledgeable.

I had a lot of mixed feelings about this hotel. The staff are amazing! Friendly, helpful and go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. However, the state of the hotel is in disrepair. The air in the first room we had was broken, so the next day we were moved to another room. The shower in the second room was broken. The staff fixed it the next day best they could. I opened the closet and found a roach. Staff came right away and killed it.
The neighborhood is nice and stores are within walking distance. If you are on a budget and are ok with not needing a clean place this is the place for you!

The room was ok, but we missheard the breakfast time and arrived 10 minutes late, we asked if we could get something simple like a cup with yougurt for two persons, and the receptionist said it was IMPOSSIBLE and that it would count as room service and an aditional cost.

Room was small but clean. I dined at the hotel and the chef prepared authentic Peruvian dishes that were just perfect. Breakfast was included and was promptly prepared to order. I recommend the place for its central location. The area is mostly residential and safe to walk in the evenings (families, parks and safe)
