Unclean

The sheets and cover weren’t clean. The room was sparse and dated. Even the cable did not work. A colleague booked the room and I was very dissatisfied. It is in need of an update and better hygiene practices.
Very average, bare bones roadside motel, it is clean and inexpensive

Very Bare bones, no comfortable chair, just a plastic folding chair. Tiny tiny shower and bathroom. Loud party in next room and it was mid week. It is clean though and manager was nice. Grocery store right beside it is a bonus. It does have a microwave and a mini fridge.
Clean, affordable and friendly

I have been going for several years now under the new ownership and have always been satisfied with my stay.
Since the change in ownership they have made progressive improvements to the rooms.
Keeping in mind that this is a motel, not a hotel, the rooms are always clean with comfortable mattresses and pillows. The wifi works sufficiently which is a plus.
The owners ensure that it is quiet and are always ready to look after any request.
I never think of staying elsewhere when I come to the Island.
Wonderful!

We were so lucky to find the Hawberry Motel on our way home from a very long trip (for us). Especially, since this was after Thanksgiving (Canadian) when so many places are closed for the season.
We were treated so well and courteously.
We loved Little Current too. A lovely community with everything you need, groceries, LCBO, cafés, and shopping...all within walking distance.
But this is all about Hawberry!
The room pictured here is identical to the room we stayed in. My husband calls it the "wifi" suite. The owner was so accommodating because I truly needed a good connection being a Master's student (by distance) trying to play catch up after a two-week stint of traveling.
The room was clean, cosy, and the bed(s) were very comfy. The TV worked and we even had a local weather channel! The bathroom was a good size...two people could brush their teeth at the same time. Sometimes handy when you want to get on your way quickly.
There was a working microwave, and a little fridge that got cold right away, which comes in handy because I have to tote my own "milk" (lactose intolerant).
Just a quick drive (under an hour (depending on traffic about 50 minutes) to the Chi Cheemaun).
Over the two weeks, we spent time in many other communities. This was just as wonderful as the best! And far superior to the worst ... which was just substandard.
We can't wait till next year because we get to stay here again! Yeah!
Great location and economical too!

The Hawberry Motel is very conveniently located for a trip to Manitoulin. It is less than an hour from the Chi-Cheemaun Ferry launch in South Baymouth and right at the entrance to the island from the north. We went over Thanksgiving weekend and had a standard room. It only had a small shower stall and no headboard, but the bed was comfortable and the room heated up quickly. It was quiet for the most part, except our room had a broken window crank and with the window open people talking outside woke us up. For the reasonable price we paid it was worth the stay.
