Two words....Bed Bugs

Came up to stay for an Anniversary weekend on 8/13....We were first given Cottage 23 and found bed bugs, went up to the office and were given Cottage 21 and AGAIN bed bugs!!!! We have pictures as well as video. We ended up having to drive home the same evening, such a disappointment. They were quick to offer to bug bomb the room and that we could then come back in 3 hours....just ridiculous!
It took 10 days to receive a credit...the manager Angela NEVER would speak to us nor made any effort to apologize. We had to make 4 phone calls, before the credit was granted. So VERY unprofessional and would only speak to us through a very nice gal named Heather, whom she left in charge to deal with it all.
Perfect For A Weekend Getaway

My friends and I stayed here for one night in August and these little cabins were the perfect size for 6 of us. A futon and pull out couch downstairs and two queens upstairs, plus one full bathroom and a 1/2 bath upstairs made getting ready so much easier. It is a quick and downhill walk to the Alpine Slide and the Village, which makes it uphill on the way back. The pool was refreshing and clean. I really loved it here and I cannot wait to come back!
A perfect "home" while doing a lot of Big Bear things...

We needed as escape, as we often do from the package of bedlam called L.A. A 2 hour ride to Big Bear was the right ticket, climbing into clean air and deep blue skies (and increasingly more sane traffic). The lowland scrub and urban layout gave way to dry schist, prickly pear cactus and as elevation gained, blossoms of spring which bring visions far away from the urban sprawl of southern California.
Our destination was Big Bear, to rent some bicycles and go scrambling along the forest service roads for four hours (a great workout with spectacular views). We figured we'd make it a full couple of days, staying at a place we knew nothing of but would be just fine to spend the night.
The Bear Creek Resort, though was completely more charming than we thought! They gave us an early check-in (because it was available, of course - that's not guaranteed!) and we were in a really nice cabin with a living area, a kitchen area, bedroom and bath. A fireplace was waiting for us, too - but we had scheduled ourselves so much there just wasn't time.
The place was great. We spent a lot more time there than planned, and had a great time. Clean, much quieter than expected and a really gracious, helpful staff. Like anyplace, we found that as we asked questions and just engaged, the information we got back was far better than it would have been had we just waited.
We'd definitely go back here... they have great associations and discount possibilities with area attractions (our bike rental, for instance!), a swimming pool with hot-tub and no resort fees! (We really like places with no resort fees!).
I'd recommend this as a place for an overnight or multi-day stay easily. Have fun!
Fabulous!

We loved them and their 2 bedroom cabins! Our lab was with us and not a bad price at all. I would recommend this place to anyone! We walked to eat and drink. Clean and it had everything you'd need on a trip!
