The place is a little old-fashioned but it's clean, comfortable, and in a good location (very near to Jiantan MRT, walking distance to Shilin night market, nearby convenience stores, even a tiny park across the street). The staff are polite and helpful. There's a good selection of Western and Chinese dishes for the breakfast buffet.

For the three nights I stayed there waiting for my family's arrival, I always leave the 'do not disturb' sign hanging on the doorknob every time I left the hotel. On the third day when I return I notice that my room has been cleaned, then I immediately check all my belongings because I don't trust these housekeepers at mediocre hotels, I went through all my personal items n discover only some small, unnoticeable items r missing, they are my Chanel skincare products, all three that I brought are gone. I didn't want to say anything because it was on the last day of my stay and it wasn't a big issue, but still, it show what types of employee this hotel are hiring.

Location is good. Booked best room but when curtains were opened all the window sills thick dust. Sheets worn through. Cleaner didn't even turn up next day to clean the room. Breakfast awful unless you are not Westernized. Cheese and fruit were sparsely placed on the plate literally counted out. Also generally all staff had no level of English language so we asked a normal question where the nearest station etc was and other staff were called. Breakfast staff understood absolutely nothing

Was looking for a hotel near Shilin night market and found this hotel. Seems like this hotel has been here for a while and is quite reputable. The walk from MRT station was not far. The hotel also provides parking for guests who drive.
The service was speedy and friendly. The receptionist gave me a warm welcome and gave me the key to my room in no time, he also recommended me of a few points of interests nearby that I should check out.
The room was clean and spacious and has a cozy old fashioned feel to it, the furnishing was all done in wood. The floor of my room was carpet, but it was clean and didn't smell. The bathroom was pretty big, there is a shower and even a bathtub.
I was pleased by this hotel and will recommend this hotel to friends who are sightseeing in this area.

The hotel has a spacious room in tip top conditions. The service is good any demand will be taken care of. The location is great, near to mrt station and near to taipei 's biggest night market, shilin night market. Those who like to shop around this is the best place to stay.
