So dirty and falling apart!

The resort moved us from another lodging to Beaverhead Condos because the Condos were supposed to be an upgrade, and we had a bad experience with our original lodging. Beaverhead Condos are spacious, and the location is nice. We weren't looking for luxury, but I do like a place to be clean. There was dog poop on the balcony when we arrived in the condo, and from entering and seeing that, we quickly realized that the condo was not going to be super clean. There was a thick coating of dust on all of the shelves in the condo, and tons of dog(?) fur on everything in the condo. All of the upholstery in the condo was so thread bare, it was almost colorless. The floors were super dirty. My child got ringworm on her face, which could have come from the Big Sky ski helmets or the bath tub. There was a cabinet door missing in the kitchen. We don't really know where it went; it was just gone when we got there. The utensils, plates and pots were mix and match. The pots and pans were so old that they were difficult to make spaghetti with. Someone spontaneously let him or herself into our condo, locked different locks on the doors, and turned the heat up. They didn't clean or fix anything, so we don't really know what that was all about, but some of my Dad's medication went missing after that. We called management to ask if anyone had access to our condo, but they said no one did and never called back. The second day we were there another family arrived with children and stayed in the condo above us, and there was no sound proofing. We could clearly hear everything they were doing from our living room. I won't return to Big Sky after this experience. The manager tried to fix things by not charging us for the upgrade, but when we got to checkout, they still tried to charge us for it, and we had to spend more time on the phone getting it worked out. It's a beautiful mountain, but dealing with the resort isn't worth it.
The 1980s called; they want their condo back!

A fairly junkie property. The only reason I did not give it a terrible is that the condos are genuinely ski in/out. Big Sky should be embarrassed to offer these on their site until they are updated and up to standards at other resorts. Also, note that there is no pool available and many units have no hot tubs, forcing you to walk 1/4 mile to Huntley Lodge to use their dated facilities!
Not brand new but clean and well equiped

very clean.
lots of upgrades.
well situated.

Unit 1409 Beaverhead Condos

During our first visit to Big Sky we stayed at Beaverhead unit 1409. We were a total of 8. One couple with their 5 year old used the master king bedroom. The other used the 2 twin bedroom. One kid stayed in the single and one keep sleeping in the sofa at the family room. The apartment was dated but very clean. The kitchen was well stocked, and very spacious. The unit now has Wi-fi and a small Tv on the family area with dish service. We used the one car inside garage to keep our car and ski gear during our stay. It is a small walk from the unit to the slope, about 30 feet but once there you can sky down to the lift and sky your way back to the door of the cabin. It is a typical sky rental unit, all that you need for a week in the snow. My wife does not ski and the walk to the village was a bit long. She has tracks on her boots and took the short route down the ski slope, but if you go using the walkways and sidewalks is a bit long.
I really think they should have an internal shuttle service for such a big resort. Also we stayed on the unit from Saturday to Thursday. During the weekend there were people staying on the unit above, and you can hear them walking, talking and you can also hear the water running in the pipes late at night when is quiet or you are sleeping, we got lucky that our upstair neighbors were few and relatively quiet. But is just a matter of luck and occupancy.
Poor for the price.

Pros: close to a ski hill. Kitchen was reasonable and it was nice to make our own meals. Beds were comfortable. Fireplace a nice touch.
Cons: Horribly outdated although clean. No wifi or anything other than local channels on the small TV. TV so old that you couldn't hook up an HDMI cable to watch movies off our iPad. With no real TV, the lighting was poor to read. Some of the furniture, especially the kitchen table chairs were falling apart. Hot tub didn't work. While the ski hill was close, it was uphill to the main runs. Quite expensive overall for what we got. As these are privately owned there appears to be huge differences between the units, but there should be global standards or they should at least warn you and adjust the price accordingly.
