Old school charm with modern features
Gaye Ron 26/05/2017 18:34This is an old hotel presumably built to cater for the European well off who came to take the waters in the nearby spa. It has been extensively modernised but still has quirky features making it oh so different from modern hotels.
Billiard table, piano and bow-tied staff - you feel you might be in the middle of an Agatha Christie novel. Up-dated facilities, Wi-Fi obviously, large touch screen computer in the lobby, outdoor pool at 29C and water fall, wellness centre, electric bikes and gym. Air conditioning has been sensitively installed (we really could not hear or see the outlet in the bedroom), the mature plane trees in the garden were a joy to sit under in the heat of the afternoon whilst hearing cuckoos and bird song.
Breakfast is a real adventure, so many different sorts of breads, honeys, cheeses, fruits then the boil your own egg and make your own toast machines. The rooms are very clean and the only down is that you can hear taps running in adjoining rooms.
We were there for four nights but we would happily have stayed for much longer.
An impressive hotel
AlaAplon 17/09/2016 22:03Like another contributor, we stayed here as part of a tour of "secret" Italian Lakes. The hotel is spacious, well laid out with a nice bar, good lounge, good sized restaurant. There is also a pool area although I didn't partake.
Room was satisfactory with a nice lake view, however was spoiled somewhat by noisy plumbing. I don't particularly like hearing other people's ablutions, toilet flushings etc and they really were very noticeable in our room, a definite negative.
However, the staff were friendly and helpful, the food was of good quality and "extra", such as wine with the meal, were not too expensive.
Location was good for the town area (about 5 minute flat walk), but the lake was a bit further away, about 10-15 minutes. OK going, but coming back up the hill in the heat of the day was quite tiring.
Hidden Lakes
CT1810on 16/09/2016 08:16We have just returned from a group tour and Hotel Bellavista was our second hotel. The hotel's public areas are excellent with a large reception/lounge area, elegant bar and terrace, dining room and pool and gardens. We had a view of the lake which was lovely but our room was dark and very basic. Really needs a complete refurbishment as it was out of keeping with the rest of the hotel. The breakfast at the hotel was very good with plenty of choice. However we were also booked in for dinner and this was disappointing. On our first night we were served quiche and chips for our main course with no choice. On another the suggested main course was curried turkey with mashed potato, not exactly typically Italian fare. This may have been due to the budget allowed by our tour company because other reviewers have commented that their food was good. What a pity.
Beyond expectation
johnponon 11/09/2016 18:03I have been to the lakes on several occasions but never to Levico, we had a transfer from Verona which took about 1.1/2 hours not an unpleasant journey, upon arriving at Levico all the other people were dropped off at hotels by the Lake, we did not know what to expect but we were then dropped off in the village, about a 10min walk back down, at first we were disappointed, but soon found out this is the best place to be as at night the village came alive, as for the Hotel it was brilliant and I can't recommend it enough, we had a double superior which also gave free entry to the hotel spa which was very well equipped, the food was excellent a 5 course evening meal not big courses but just right if you have a big appetite you can get more, rooms very clean, staff always helpful, hotel is classy, loved it
A really very nice relax week
polaniaAshkelonon 20/08/2016 14:49We were a group of 8,family and friends ,7 of us intensive stressed working people, age 50-60 and we all enjoyed our stay very much. The staff was very helpfull and patient and polite, especially the waitresses and the maid. The entire hotel, rooms, restaurant, spa, pool, garden, everything was very clean. The
rooms were not very large but comfortable. One can choose from a large range of activities .* walking, cycling, swimming ,visiting the beautiful surrounding villages or cities or simply resting by the pool. The food in the hotel restaurant was fresh and plenty, could get maximum points if the cook would not use the salt in extreme!
Wished there was any tea/coffe maker in the room and an english speaking tv channel but it didn t spoil our experiece! If the view is important, ask for a lake view room.
