What People are saying
Terrible Food

Stayed here as part of a tour recently, the only positive is that the hotel is clean. The evening meals we had to endure every evening were disgusting. People filled up on the salad starters, as they knew the other courses would be poor.
Simple and clean hotel

This hotel is indeed a three star hotel however it is the warmth with which you are met that makes it special. The family that run this hotel has customer service down to a fine art. The team that makes it run well are all happy and smiley and they do go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable.
The hotel is dated and has a 1970's feel about the place but that isn't really a problem. It doesn't have a fridge or safe (the room I stayed in didn't) but of course you get what you pay for.
Breakfast was ample - yes the coffee wasn't great but at least hot. Supper was more than enough and if you had all of the courses, you would be stuffed as I was!
All in all - a good, clean hotel - great staff and I would stay here again despite the noise from the train/traffic.
Correct 3 stars hotel - don't wait for anything more

We were living in the standard double room with additional bed for 3 nights. The room was very small and not sophisticated - yellow painted walls, no fridge. The pictures on the Booking.com mislead us a bit - definitely they were made in the rooms of the higher category. It looks like the hotel is managed by the family - the stuff is quite nice. The rooms are clean, everything is well maintained. The hotel itself has everything to claim 3 stars, but nothing more. Also, San Bartalameo al Mare is definitely not the most beautiful place in Italian coast, apart from the beach there are not many sightseeing attractions there. Of course you should visit the old town in Cervo, which is near by.
Noise from Trains & Road Traffic

I am loathe to give it a bad review as the ladies who run the hotel and the restaurant staff are charming and very helpful. However if you are on the terrace surrounding the swimming pool the traffic noise is very bad Also the main train line is quite close so again a lot of noise. To be fair most of this coast suffers from the traffic & train noise. The food was good hotel food nothing exceptional. Standard buffet breakfast let down by tinned fruit and poor coffee. Whilst the pool terrace was cleaned every day except Sunday it was never hosed down resulting in dirty feet when you walked round with wet feet. The pool was supposed to be open from 8am but most days the lifeguard did not finish his cleaning duties till 11am.On the Sunday pool not cleaned meant it was not really useable due to large amount of pine needles from overhanging tree. Luckily a fellow guest cleaned the pool with the net ! We stayed 10 nights. Underground car park very tight access.
A good place to stay.

We stayed here for four nights on a Leger holiday in Italy. We stayed in room Number seven which overlooked the swimming pool. It had a small balcony which we used occasionally. The room was quite basic but the biggest problem which I believe had been reported in previous reviews, was the plumbing.
The shower ran too hot and then cold, then the water would only trickle out . The wash basin was the same and the plug hole kept blocking up..
The food was good and as I am a vegetarian I asked for vegetarian meals which they provided and I enjoyed. The swimming pool was well looked after but I think I was the only one using it. My wife complained about the bed being hard but it was fine for me. The hotel staff were cheerful and helpful and wanted to please and we could not fault them in any way. The hotel is in a busy location and I expect some people would find the noise from the road a problem but they could always ask for a quiet room at the back of the hotel. All in all it was a good experience and we would be happy to stay here again .
