It is rare that I travel to the same mountain resort twice because there are so many places in Austria I still would like to visit. But for Bergland I make an exception. I stayed here for the first time in 2015. As the hotel is a little heaven on earth I returned in September 2017. The hotel and staff again exceeded my expectations. The room is nicely decorated, the overall design in the hotel is modern but cosy. Food and service is excellent. The wellness area with saunas and steam bath was the place to relax after a day of hiking in the mountains. Just like in 2015 I still consider this hotel as one of the best I ever stayed at. Sölden is also highly recommended for hiking. With the Oetztal card, included in your stay at Bergland, cable cars and public transportation are free to use. Very nice to make your way around in the Oetztal to hike in places like Obergurgl, Vent, Längenfeld, etc...

For a few days to be looked after and well fed during the Rad Marathon weekend was very special. Everyone friendly, service was impeccable. Bicycles permitted in the room and central location is perfect. Would love to stay again.

You can feel the difference from the moment you step into the reception. the smile, the personal greeting, they thought about the small details that makes you smile and feel the best.
Everything is clean, the restaurant is amazing.

We have just returned from our first summer holiday to Austria and we are ALL converted from the beach holiday..
A large part of this was down to the Bergland Hotel and the fantastic staff and facilities.
We arrived early but this wasn't an issue, a glass of Prosecco later and our family room was ready, with a separate room for the children, it was everything we had expected.
Beautifully decorated in the Alpine style but with a modern twist that just oozed style and space.
The facilities at the hotel are second to none and spotlessly clean, their spa is situated on the top floor that offers spectacular views across the valley. It was for us after a day out, the perfect way to unwind and relax. Everything about the spa was superb, from the heated waterbeds to the swing chairs.... Miss it already.
The hotel offers daily activities such as hill walks, mountain biking, E-Biking tours Yoga trips etc. etc.
We availed of one such walk with Sigi, who was a great guide with wonderful knowledge of the area and at a very relaxed pace to suit all the walkers. We didn't realise until later that Sigi was the owner of the Hotel which kept in with the whole experience that ALL the Staff at the bergland showed us. They even put together and presented us with an UBS stick with photos and videos of the walk... the personal touch!! which unfortunately lacks in a lot of hotels nowadays, So a big thank you again.
We went half board for the 6 days we stayed. The food, for both breakfast and dinner was 5 star and more.. a different menu each night which was just outstanding, we could not find a single fault with the food.
I do feel I could write forever but it might put people off reading a long review, so our advise is..... if you are thinking of doing an Alpine trip then look no further than the Bergland

Stayed here for a week. When arriving we were warmly greeted with Prosecco. Checkin was efficient and we were shown to our room (Bergland comfort room). Very nice, good beds, rocking chair is a nice touch, terrace with chairs and lots of privacy.
Breakfast and diner had good quality of food, both healthy things and nice things such as croissants, ideal for vacation. However, when we stayed there were not that many guests so there was no atmosphere. Another thing was that there were flies in the restaurant and on the food. A hotel at this price level should take more adequate measures to solve that. Staff was attentive, yet a bit anonymous.
SPA is great, nice relaxing on the roof, nice people working there, we had a massage which was excellent.
Solden in summer for us did not impress, nature is beautiful and there are more than enough things to do, but the village itself lacks authenticity and has a lot of modern buildings. Definitely not a place we will return to.
All in all it left us with a feeling of enjoying a relaxing week in a hotel that was quite good, just not excellent if you take the steep price level into account.
