This is the fourth time that we have stayed. Every time we have been here has been great but this time was amazing. We visited Darby's Tavern and met the most amazing bartender Katina. She was so awesome. She told us stories about the plantation and information about local areas. Friendly and sweet. She is now the highlight of our visit here. Please go see her. We also had some questions about some of the rooms other than the hotel part. We met with Ricky in maintenance, he showed us the available rooms, told us many amazing stories and all around was a great guy. We will be back as long as these two are on the grounds. Five stars.

This was a pleasant place in the countryside near a small town of South Boston. The room was nice, spacious and nicely furnished. The staff was not very knowledgeable about the area, however, and seemed disinterested in helping us. Breakfast was sparse - usually well picked over by 8:30 or 9:00. The tavern dining room was goo food but the cook was very slow (the waitress kept apologizing for slow or missing items). I wouldn't go back.

My friends came with me from Detroit, and Alabama to see what all I was excited about when I visited in January, also to visit Bill, Jon, Desma,,Jim, Katina and the Staff.
Sorry I couldn't name the entire staff they were all wonderful also.
This also was an Amazing and Gratifying trip for me again .Hopefully next year my BFF will be planning her wedding at The Berryhill Resort and Conference Center.
We all had a wonderful unbelievable time, Thank You again for the Hospitality.

Recently, I had the pleasure of visiting Berry Hill Resort and Conference Center with a group of women from Detroit, Metro Detroit and Montgomery, Alabama. I will start by saying the grounds are breathtaking and awe-inspiring. From the gargantuan mansion with its colossal columns, one feels as though you have stepped back into the Victorian Era. There are no velvet ropes, I was allowed to touch and admire the sophistication and brilliant craftsmanship of this mansion.
The mansion in all its grandeur also serves as a restaurant with five (5) star dinning. Our dinner party of 10 was hosted and served by Mr.Teed who provided singular table service in one (1) minute to 10 guests. In other words, no waiting for additional plates to begin your dinning experience. The service made us all feel valued and the food was sensational.
Then there is Darby's Tavern where we had a few incredible lunches. My personal favorite is the Greek Salad with grilled salmon and Caesar dressing. Simply sensational.
There is so much to see and explore at Berry Hill Resort. The staff of Berry Hill exude southern charm and hospitality. One standout at Berry Hill is Mr. Luck, who is the official Greeter, Historian, Tour Guide and Recreational Stand-Up Comedian. If you are friendly, he will tell you a joke.
During my visit, I met some wonderful people (a couple from Greenville, SC) who were friendly, fun-loving and kind.
The room was as though you step back into time with modern amenities. It also included a balcony that I made good use of.
Berry Hill Resort is one of the best kept secrets in these United States and I cannot wait until my return visit to further explore this magnificent property. The mere history of it all will blow you away.
Take it in. Sit on the veranda have a cup of coffee, a mint julep, a chocolate cake shot or your beverage of choice and enjoy.
Upon returning from this vacation, I felt so rested and rejuvenated.

Berry Hill Plantation is a wonderful experience for those looking for a quiet getaway. The main dining area was closed, as we visited during the week, but the food at the tavern was excellent. The grounds offered ample space to wander, and the room was very comfortable. If you love historic homes and quiet getaways, this is a must-visit!
