What People are saying

Great Hotel

Haggismoon on 06/11/2017 22:44

Spent a week at this hotel and it was great, hotel was clean and staff were helpful and knew the area, the bars had great choice of drinks and the restaurant had food to suit all tastes. I would definitely go again. Would like to point out one thing, there are birds in a cage at the pool bar and I am allergic to birds, so please bear in mind.

Visited end April beginning may . So rude put us at the bak of the hotel which faced a railway and this was wat we had to look out to complained and they didn’t care the manager said if we pay cheap we get cheap ! Treated Spanish different ? It was disco Spanish bingo Spanish ,, older people and whilst I have no problem it was full of people with special needs . Which should have been getting looked after and not harassing other holiday makers ! Wat a experience never again ! Company we booked it with weren’t interested ( sunmasters)

Need to have a word with their rude staff

destiny0007 on 21/10/2017 23:00

My friend and I arrived at lunchtime to be greeted, if i can use that word, by a grumpy receptionist who moaned when we said we had booked two rooms. Not a smile came on her face. Hotel lobby was clean and so were our rooms. But our rooms overlooked a very busy train track with trains running to and from Barcelona every half an hour and were extremely loud, deciding to sound their hooter right outside the hotel. this went on until late at night.
Bed was comfortable and air con was good. I had only one English speaking TV channel and that was BBC news! Only two electrical sockets in the room worked. No sockets about table level on the dresser so to plug anything in you had to crawl under the table. No mirror above table either. As for the safe...it was in the wardrobe on the floor. No one with a bad back or disabled would be able to use it. No ceiling light above beds, so at night all you had was two bedside lamps and they weren't very bright.
On the first morning I had come out of the shower at 8.15 and was in the process of dressing when the maid walked in. I demanded she get out as I was near naked, and that she should have knocked. she said she did but it must have been a gentle tap as I heard nothing. I showed her how loud she should have knocked. this hotel need to tell their cleaners that they must knock loudly and wait at least 10 seconds for a reply. then knock again and say hello as they come in. It could have been an intimate couple she walked in on. I had no tag for my door with a do not disturb option. on my last day, once again this happened with a different cleaner who continued to walk in even after I shouted not to as I was naked. Do they know when I'm out of the shower? they have no manners.
Bacon in the morning was swimming in a tray of grease. eggs were dried under the lights. if they can cook pancakes and omelettes or order they should to fried eggs too. Latte from the machine was luke warm. food at evening meal was catered mainly for the Spanish. we were half board and I was disgusted that we weren't even given the basic human need of a drink of water with our meal. we had to pay for bottled water. I have never been half board in any hotel before where you don't get a cold drink free along with your meal. Water would have been fine. wasn't expecting wine. we sneaked in our own water.
One night when I was waiting for something to be cooked for me by the tall young rude chef, a woman came back complaining she had asked for her minute steak to be well done and it was still red inside. she handed him the plate with the steak cut in half, and said she didn't want it but he simply took the steak off her plate and put it back on the hot plate with the other steaks he was cooking!!! I complained this was very unhygienic and he just glared at me. so I complained to the head of the restaurant and she spoke to him and said it was ok as the woman hadn't eaten the steak. NO...but she had cut it in half with a fork which she had already had in her mouth ad she'd eaten stuff off her plate.
English was not well spoken in this hotel. with so many English speaking guests, I would have thought that would have been a priority. if this is too much trouble let me mention that if you go to any Hotel in Egyptian resorts, they ALL speak English. Some also speak, Russian, German, Italian and French.
there was a bus stop across from the hotel and the beach was across the road.
the pool area was washed at 8pm. there were always people sitting outside at night, including some elderly guests and the area was slippy and soaking. A libel case accident waiting to happen.
The pool would be best cleaned at 6am like in many other countries and the sun dries it in half an hour. before any guests are up. That would be much safer.
Maybe its the Spanish way to be rude to people. you would not get off with that in a British hotel. But you can complain in a British hotel. when you complain at that hotel it is ignored.
Basically you need to send your staff out to Egypt to learn, good manners, how to smile and make the guests feel welcome. and speak English!!

Lovely hotel

Stayed here for a week in September. Lovely room with pool view and a glimpse of the sea. Friendly welcome at reception. Hotel has a lovely pool, water is very cold though. The food is very good with lots of variety and some fantastic displays in the evening. Dining room staff work very hard and are not overfriendly. A shame. The dining room manager was very pleasant. Everywhere in the hotel is immaculate. We even saw a chap shampooing the sun loungers at night...! It's a very short walk to the lovely beach and a quick bus ride to either Cambrils or Salou. Tarragona is another good place for a visit.
