Best Western Amiral Hotel
I stayed here for 3 nights with my partner (I was 20 and she was 19 at the time) and we were having a short City break in Paris.
- Check in -
Slight hiccup! We booked via a third party website as it was a last minute booking and we managed to get it slightly cheaper.
Anyway, long story short, they hadn't reserved my room as their was problems with payment and a mixup overall.
LUCKILY, they had a room spare (exactly like the one we wanted) and so we paid for it in Cash at the price that we would've paid (which was good as they could've charged us full rate!)
The man on reception dealt with this exceptionally well despite the very minor language barrier between us.
- The Room -
The room is comfortable, modern and does what it needs to do.
It is small though. Also has a joined patio area (for ground floor rooms) with the rooms next to you (unsure about balcony).
Bathroom was nice, again small but never had any issues with water temperature or anything like that.
Comfortable bed, a free safe, TV on the wall (all french channels) and mini bar.
Slightly noisy as we were right next to an elevator so we could hear the staff wheeling in trolleys full of fresh bedding and linen to change the rooms on the floors above and the breakfast trolley going down to the restaurant (as the restaurant is below floor level), so the sound of heavy trolleys and plates rattling wasn't always a pleasant wake up call especially at 5am! But I understand they have a job to do and have no issues with this.
- The Facilities -
A nice indoor swimming pool (not heated) - The walk to get to the pool is very strange indeed though, you have to walk into the reception/bar area and then descend down some stairs in order to reach the pool area, can be uncomfortable if people are checking in or at the bar.
A nice exercise room and a business section with a computer and a printer available to use. The free wifi throughout the hotel is also a good feature. I enjoyed the small terrace garden in the middle of the all the rooms, it was particularly nice to sit outside with a coffee in a morning.
- Food & Drinks -
I never had anything to eat from the restaurant. However, we would always walk past that area when leaving the hotel and it always looked and smelled appealling, always seemed to have people eating as well.
The drinks were good.
- The Staff -
Slight language barrier with some of the staff, but they were all extremely helpful in guiding us around Paris and aiding us with using the Metro system.
They made reccomendation in terms of where is best to eat, they helped in getting us successfuly to the Eiffel Tower and Disney land.
No issues with the staff at all, very friendly and always did their best to help us.
- Location -
The location is ideal. Although on a main road, most of the rooms are pushed further back and so the noise is often very minimal.
Their was a street market right outside the hotel on the day of our departure (Thursday) and it was rather busy, so this could be one thing to keep a look out for!!!
The hotel is very close 5 minunte walk to one of the Metro stations (Tolbiac) which connects to all major routes and landmarks in Paris.
Also a 5 minute walk away is a very big popular shopping centrer and A LOT of coffee shops/bars all on the main road and a traffic round-a-bout (island).
- Overall -
The hotel was comfortable, clean, modern but small. It's located perfectly for a city break!
The hotel is more suitable to business people and couples as opposed to families.
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here and would definitely stay here again if I was ever in Paris on a city break.

Very cosy and basic rooms, staff very friendly, in a very great area, on a street with shops and metro, supermarket just up the street to the left, great for a long weekend stay, close to main Paris, facilities in room worked very well

I just recently stayed in above hotel during a 4 day break to Paris , this hotel had the added bonus of a swimming pool , which we took full advantage of and used every day bar one ! The hotel was ideally placed for use of metro system which we used every day and was a 10 minute walk to the place d'italie where there were plenty of restaurants and a fab shopping centre (which had Zara Sephora etc in ) also was a few good supermarkets nearby . As for the hotel most of the staff were courteous and the rooms were clean and our beds were made and clean towels provided each day during our stay , the rooms were a little small considering its 4 star rating , was a lack of plugs in room , the safe didn't work properly but was able to use safe in my sisters room , also bit noisy due to traffic but we had air conditioning so could close window at night and be cool ! My downside was the safe , the shower leaked and the bath taps were wobbly and was damp above the bath on ceiling ! Also I didn't like that you had to enter one door into a small lobby before you then opened your own hotel room door ! Bit strange ! Whilst we enjoyed our stay very much I don't think this hotel is 4 star but rather a good 3 star ! A few little tweaks here and there needed but on whole a nice little base for our stay though , I would prefer to stay nearer to central Paris next time I visit

Stayed at this hotel for one night on the way to Spain. It was ok for a passing visit, glad I Wasn't staying longer.
Entrance was beautiful. Room was small but clean. A small balcony outside. Towels were very used and worn. Tea and coffee facilities in the room. The Eiffel Tower was only 20€ in a taxi. Wifi free.
Staff on reception very helpful.

Booked 2 twin rooms for a few days of Euro'16. Has a good location beside Tolbiac metro stop. Rooms are normal. Pool is a plus especially for Paris hotels.
Lots of restaurants and shops in a short distance including one huge shopping mall at Porte D'talie. There is a cake/bread shop next door from which we got or morning croissants and prices are normal in this area. The Glebe bar/restaurant was good with Amstel @ €3.50 a pint(yes in Paris). Would go there again for value and location.
