Renovated and Best Price! Pet friendly

This Red Roof has been renovated and is very comfortable. The rooms are located back from the road, so it is very quiet at night. Large parking lot for anything from a big rig to your car pulling a trailer with great lighting for security. There is even an RV section, though we did not check in to that. Breakfast was adequate: Fresh coffee, juice, cereal, make your own waffles, fresh fruit, biscuits & gravy, sausage, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, and a clean dining area. When something was out, the desk personnel refilled at request. The shower was awesome, great water pressure.
The only negative that we experienced was the sink counter had not been cleaned thoroughly, and the shower curtain needed to be bigger for the new curved rod.
When we checked in at 5pm there were fresh baked cookies in the lobby!
Just what was expected

This is a good spot to stop on the hwy between Amarillo and Houston. Clean, quiet. Good breakfast place in the parking lot (close at 2 and on Tuesday). It's family owned lots of locals every day. They also offer breakfast at the hotel. We had no complaints.
Absolutely Gross

I am traveling with my dog and 5 year old home on a 24 hour drive. I booked this hotel in advance. After the 10 hours of we unload in the pouring rain, bathe my son, put him to bed the go to the restroom only to encounter the grossest toilet I have seen. Someone had urinated all over it and it had pubic hair stuck in the dried caked urine. On top of that the television didn't work and reception only answered on my 3rd call. They refused to discount or refund my payment unless I called the travel site I used to work through them and to let the manager know the next morning!! I then woke my son up, repacked and moved to another room in the rain only to find the television didn't work in the second room. Absolutely appalling and discussing not to mention a complete health hazard.
Redemption? Unlikely!!!

As my husband and I travelled thru this town, we hoped (based on others' reviews) we were getting at least a decent "bed" for a few hours on a very late night (early morning) on our way to Dallas, TX from Cheyenne, WY....unfortunately, the only thing we received was a quick free shower since the linens on the bed seemed to have either never have been changed or were recently used and soiled in what appears to be some type of blood/body fluid along with some left over remaining hairs. All of that, AND we found a dead fly on top of the bed (cover)! It was enough to literally make us pack back up & head right back out on the road without staying a minute longer in that room. Of course, not without my husband letting the young lady at the front desk see the pictures of the bed we found and demanding a refund. She understood we had already used the shower (& obviously the towels) and still agreed to provide us a credit/refund for the charge of the room. However, she could have redeemed the whole "disgusting" situation had she seemed a bit surprised by the pics my husband showed her, but the disturbing part of it all was that it didn't seem to surprise or phase her in the least bit. Needless to say, I hope we never find ourselves in a situation where we have to resort to this place ever again.
Flies

The price was definitely right. The desk clerk was definitely nice. The room was basically clean. The girl at the desk in the morning didn't seem prepared for the amount of guests heading in for breakfast. The disturbing part of the stay was the amount of flies in our room. I think with a little work and updating this could actually be a nice place. It wasn't bad but it wasn't great either.
