Aging motel

I'm not picky when it comes to motels and I know you get what you pay for. But for more than $90 per night in SD, I expected a bit more.
Stayed here 3 nights. My wife and I needed a a decent clean place to sleep. The bathroom had a big hole in the wall. The shampoo, conditioner and body wash containers are attached to the wall (ran out of body wash by day 2). The walls are really thin and you can hear the conversations from the next room. You can also hear every time somebody walks by your room and when somebody opens and closes the door. On Friday night someone was walking around with a loud speaker. I found this really annoying. The bed is king size but it squeaks every time you move making it really uncomfortable to sleep.
The sheets made my wife really itchy.
The free breakfast includes: hard boiled egg, waffles, strudels and cereals. They ran out of orange juice the day I decided to check it out. I didn't bother to comeback.
I think this place is ok if you just need a place to sleep for one night. Looks somewhere else if you want a clean room
And a good night sleep.
Decided to give two stars because the lady in the front desk and house keeping were nice.
Learned my lesson!

1. At arrival, my wife and I asked, if our room was ready, front desk said, "Yes" being a bit early (35 minutes) to the time to check in... they said, "it will cost you and additional $25". We told the front desk "no thank you, we will be back in a bit". I thought that if a room was ready and being so close to check in they will allow us to check in, no luck. But, I can live with that.
2. Once in our room there was not a sofa-bed as advertised by Chula Vista at Hotels.com (we were depending on it for my kid), and I clearly asked the lady in the phone (from the phone provided by Hotels.com underneath the Chula Vista hotel if there was one), she said "Yes".
3. The hotel manager denied the fact that this advertisement in Hotels.com came from him or were accurate (really!!! even after I showed him the picture!) and indicated that all these 3rd party like hotels.com, priceline, etc. are a scam and damaging his business.
4. Once inside the room (please see the pictures). The bathtub was atrocious and the toilet lid broken.
5. Smoke detector covered with a plastic bag WOW!!!!!! (see photo), poor wifi, one bar of soap and one key card per room, etc. Manager said it is the norm.
Picture above is deceiving.
Stay away.
I LEARNED MY LESSON.
Budget stay

It wasn't that bad. Just a little noisy because it's by the main road. You can hear the cars and trucks passing by. The place is a little old looking, it needs a paint job and some fixing on walls and tubs.
The bathroom smelled like cigarette, even though it's a Non Smoking room. We tried to spray it with Lysol but it didn't go away.
The continental breakfast was good enough.
Nice place and very clean

Really good place to stay. The service here was really good and the rooms are clean. It's a bit cold for a swim during my stay but the pool is clean. I would recommend this place to anyone who needs a place for a few nights or a week
