ok folks; how do you judge the quality of lodging? It depends on the level of your prior experience as a traveler.
Those of you who have followed my reviews know that I am an experienced world traveler and I usually go "Top Drawer" whever I stay.
Now if I judge the Best Western Cowboy Inn by the standards of the George V in Paris, well you know how that will turn out.
So; lets consider place, south of San Antonio to the border.
In that region all lodging will be on a par with Best Western. That said, Best Western is on par with most major lodging chains in the area. That's why the average review.
The staff was friendly and polite and most importantly, willing to go out of their way to help. The room was average and on par with most other chain lodging in the region.
The room was clean and since it was an overnight stay I did not get to judge the quality of house keeping.
My final verdict; average, friendly, helpful and no complaints for lodging in this region.

This Motel fit our needs. Comfy and very clean. Staff was great and the breakfast was all we needed to be satisfied and on our way. We checked in to find a very clean room
The bed was comfy and got a good nights rest!

We checked in to find a very clean room with all the services we wanted, a microwave, and a refrigerator. The bed was very comfy and the Air Conditioner works very well for the Hottest place in America, Cotulla!

Went for recent wedding in the area. Hotel was clean and the staff was friendly and professional. The problem was that there was some fast food trash already in our "clean" room under the bed skirt when we arrived. Not sure how long it had been there. Not that big of a deal but still not pleasant. Also the bathroom, maybe the toilet, had a chemical odor that would not go away. I think the toilets may have been treated with something. Lastly, for breakfast, my son started to eat a bagel before I realized it had mold all over it. These issues are not that big of a deal. But there are a lot of other hotels in the area with some being nicer but about the same price. If all others hotels were booked up I would easily go back to this one and probably have a great experience.

this is the worst best western Ive ever stayed at don't get me wrong its still a best western so that means the rooms was clean they had a pool ,gym fast wifi and business center all the things I expect out of a best western so why do I rate it so low well staff is a major factor breakfast was supposed to be till 10 yet one day when I came down to breakfast at 940 the doors was closed and everything was put up the following morning (when my younger brother called and woke me up early) I was in the breakfast room at about 9 well as I started eating around 910 the lady came in and started cleaning (didn't even bother to ask if I was done) I had to complain to the front desk person before they would leave it open till 10 on top of this the breakfast wasn't anything special and day 3 (out of 8) they ran out of yogurt and bagels didn't bother buying more their "warm" breakfast looked like it had not been refreshed in weeks (dry eggs burned edges etc) so the last several days I was there all I ate was a bowl of cereal then there was the bed Ive slept on bricks that was softer and finally the cleaning staff check out is at noon (I left the room at noon as I had to be at work at 1) they insisted on coming between 10 and 1030 every morning and when I informed them that I would be leaving the room at noon and asked if they could come back I was told no so considering that I was paying $10 more a night than I was the previous time I was in Cotulle (at baymont) this hotel was NOT worth it
