We have been coming to the Skylon Hotel for many years now and we have never been disappointed. The rooms are lovely and very comfortable. The hotel is a short bus ride into the city center. The bar is very nice . There are many choices for breakfast. The staff are very accommodating, hospitable and professional. We couldn't look for better! From check in to check out, we were very happy!

Lovely hotel and staff very friendly and helpful, comfortable beds, only downside is that it's just a bit far out of town centre but wouldn't put me off going again, enjoyed the complimentary crisps and bottled water

I visited Dublin with my Auntie.. and the Skylon hotel was where we stayed. I booked this hotel and it’s safe to say, the lights on but no ones home most of the time with me.. so my Auntie was thinking I’d booked an awful hotel. NOPE! We walked in and it was so posh.. we went to our room and it was lovely. Comfy bed.. gorgeous bathroom. ONE thing I could have a whinge about is the view from our room. It wasn’t nice and I love a good view.. but I won’t take a star off because of that because honestly I have made some of the best memories in Dublin and this hotel was part of that experience! Would recommend the Skylon hotel to anyone!

We have been staying here for 4+ years and, whilst we have tried other hotels, we always return. Over those years this hotel has simply got better and better. It has had major refurbishments and is as cosy, welcoming, friendly and efficient as you could ask for...a tough combination to keep on top of, but they do. Even by legendary irish standards, the staff are brilliant. The rooms are spacious, well-equipped and spotlessly clean. Breakfast offering is great...full fry-up to something lighter. Just keep on eating until you can eat no more. Should keep you going until Dinner. Great location, just north of the city centre on the main road north to the airport. Bus stops are outside the hotel and frequent services operate both ways. Tip...Dublin buses do not give change. If you are due change the amount will be shown on your ticket which must then be taken to the central office in Dublin and your change claimed. Bit of a pain...so ask Reception staff what the fare will be and make sure you have the correct change. There are otherr wayus to do it, but this a hotel review, not "The World in 80 Bus Journeys". Need a taxi for 5.30am? Just ask Reception to book it the night before...they will and they'll keep a check on it. Whole hotel is child-friendly and they have a childrens' menu in the restaurant. The bar is, as you'd expect, well-stocked and the Drumshanbo Gunpowder Gin, (from County Leitrim according to the very nice Mr McG), is well worth your attention. We'll be trying it, again, on our next visit...purely in the interests of quality control you understand. Well, that's about it. We'll be back afore long, to see the amazing Grandson. After all, we've found a great hotel and we like to keep life simple.

My husband and I stayed at the Skylon for a two night break. The room was basic, the doors on the floor we stayed in were in poor shape and looked very shabby. The service for breakfast was dreadful with tables not being cleared and the staff were not helpful at all. Really very disappointed and wouldn't consider this to be a four star hotel, maybe a three star.
