Not worth the money
david fon 11/06/2017 18:22I do about 200 hotel nights a year. I have to say that Marmorata Hotel is TERRIBLE! Our room is so small that two suitcases cannot fit if they are open at the same time. The breakfast.... they have a bit of fruit and one hot plate with nasty scramble eggs and beans. Last but not least, the service with the exception of a young receptionist male, they are unfriendly and rude. Honestly, don't waist your time if you come with your wife and want to have a nice trip.
Lovely hotel, but some niggles
Joe Bon 11/06/2017 09:15The Marmorata Hotel is a beautiful place to stay. Our rooms were cool, well equipped and clean with beautiful sea views. The black out windows meant we got a great nights sleep, and the jacuzzi pool was clean and refreshing. The option to take a dip in the sea was a great bonus and a popular one too.
Breakfast was good with quite a selection of options both savory and sweet. We ate in the restaurant once which has a great view and had a good meal, but we found the bar service to be a little lacking throughout our stay. We regularly had to go and find someone to serve us, and on more than one occasion we waited over an hour (on one occasion almost two!) for food from the limited bar menu - just a ham and cheese sandwich - which was frustrating. The staff overall were friendly and helpful though.
We stayed for a wedding in Ravello and found transport a little difficult as we moved back and forth quite a bit. There was no shuttle bus to Ravello itself (only to Amalfi) which would have been great for us seeing as taxi's cost anything between 30-45 euros one way. You can get the shuttle to Amalfi and then get a bus back to Ravello, but more shuttle buses to more destinations are perhaps something to consider for the future? You can walk up to Ravello itself (as we did) but be warned, it's super steep and long and unless you're super fit you'll be a sweaty mess at the top! The views are worth it though.
All in all a relaxing stay, in beautiful surroundings.

bccToronto_Canadaon 09/06/2017 04:25Beautiful views,but not easy to get around as Sita bus is unreliable and crowded. Driving is option but lots of congestion. Hotel great for sun and water but no shaded relaxing areas outside inside option limited. food quality and staff excellent at breakfast and dinner
ABC: Awesome, Breath taking & Charming
Invictus_Happyon 31/05/2017 07:20There are lot of hotels in this vacation place but Hotel Marmorata is the place to stay. The staff here are very friendly and nice - very helpful and understand English.
The restaurant has a view of the sea and is just breath taking.
Lordese the manager was nice enough to upgrade us to a Superior room with private balcony right next to the sea - making the room awesome. The famous water fall was right next to our room and we had the charming sound of water, waves and waterfall. The bathroom is big with nice setting and large window.
There is nothing you will not like about this hotel.
Smart Hotel with fantastic setting
Jonathan Mon 28/05/2017 03:09The Hotel has been done up with teak furnishings and marine theme which is very appealing. Everything works well and and it was clean with friendly, helpful staff. The setting over the sea is spectacular and it sits on the cliff with a swimming pool and sunbathing decks carved out of the rock. A really classic Amalfi setting.
That said, it was not our favourite and may not suit everybody for the following reasons. We ate in the the restaurant the first night and found it a little pretentious. Small portions with fancy presentation, very untypical of the Amalfi. It was great for one night but if you want to go elsewhere another night it is tricky. Walking out at night along the coast road to Menori would not be for the faint hearted and we ended up driving our hire car which worked out fine in the end and found some good alternatives there.
Our room was not great as it was opposite the lift and you hear everybody talking in the corridor and closing bedroom doors. Also, no view at all just noise from people clomping down stairs outside the window. Conclusion, pay a supplement for a sea facing quiet room if that is what you want.
