Put in outside building that smelled like dog. Carpet was wet. Very poor lighting outside our room. Dumpster outside was very loud when the garbage truck came in the morning. Beds were not comfortable.

Dirty room, with dust and left over items from previous guest. The shower head had mold. And, the staff never made up the room for the 2nd night. Breakfast was great. I had to pay a premium because of KU athletic events. The place is a dump.

Anyone, and I do mean anyone, would be hard pressed to find a friendlier and more helpful staff than the Best Western crew in Lawrence, KS. From the folks at the front desk, to the breakfast staff to room service, everyone did an outstanding job to make our stay relaxing and enjoyable. Property was well kept and run.

Had reservations at this hotel. Went to check in and the man at the front desk smelled of alcohol. I was paying cash. I was told I could not pay cash had to use a credit card. I explained we had to be at a wedding in 30 minutes and I had made the reservation weeks ago. Was basically told to bad. You need a credit card. I was told I was not aware of this ahead of time. He said they don't have to tell us ahead of time. I would have given him a deposit but he said no. We had 30 minutes to find a place to stay, change and get to a wedding. Will not book with Best Western again. Can't say anything about the rooms. Never got that far. Then he did not cancel my reservation and still was going to charge me for it. Fortunately I had taken all the money out of my account so I could pay cash.

One night stay was all we planned for. It was okay. Arrived at night & the parking area was dark & we had an outside entrance for our room. Room numbers very hard to see.
Nothing overly impressive. Clean and basic room for what we needed...to sleep.
