A Saturday night in the cosy Wairau Appartment was a wonderful way to relax by walking on the beach, reading in the hammock; playing table tennis and then talking in the hot tub. So pleased we took our food and wine as once there it would be sad to drive away for it! Trude and John are caring hosts. Well worth treating yourself.

I spent two nights in the Wairua apartment in October. My full day there was blessed with brilliant weather as I walked around the local lake and across the cliff tops. The cottages are in an idyllic, sheltered spot with a view of the coast that is breath-taking. It is one of the most relaxing places I have ever experienced. Trude and John run it very well. They are helpful and friendly while giving you the space to relax and revive. Highly recommended.

We had a fantastic long weekend stay here. The facilities are fantastic, the location is stunning and somewhere we will be coming back to. Great to have the kids get back to nature and there is everything that you could possibly need. Sitting in the hot pool looking over the beach was pure bliss.

I was lucky enough to win a night in the Wairua apartment through the oxfam trailwalker event. The Bethells beach cottages are in a great peaceful location with stunning views of the beach and surrounding mountains. Really feels like you are somewhere quite far away from civilization but it's only half an hour or so away from Swanson and Henderson. The apartment was nice and clean and quite cute and just outside was a great Scandinavian hot tub which we enjoyed. We met John the owner who showed us around and gave us all the info we needed, great hospitality!
